Full job description

At Tom's Cakes we produce every single cake and biscuit by hand, baked in small batches in our Cambridgeshire bakery. We do not use any mixes – everything is made from scratch using only natural ingredients.
In producing hand-made confectionery for our busy café / shops in Cambridgeshire and for our online orders, our focus continues to be high- quality, well-finished, imaginative seasonal products for our loyal customer following. This approach has seen our business develop and grow over the last 28 years.

We are now looking for a committed colleague to join our expanding bakery team who can play a key role in both producing and developing our product range. In addition to the production of our current stock range you will bring your own ideas to the table, developing new products in line with our brand values and focus on seasonality and provenance. We are keen to develop a Viennoiserie range.

You will be passionate about baking, understand the importance of high-quality ingredients and appreciate and enjoy the pressures of a busy bakery. You will already have experience of training or working in a similar environment.

We offer competitive rates of pay, paid breaks and staff discount, pension scheme, sociable hours, and a supportive and welcoming working environment. Our shifts are 7am to 3pm or 9am to 5pm, managed by monthly rota. A full-time colleague would be expected to work 5 shifts each week.

Please include a CV and short, supporting statement in your application detailing how your previous experience prepares you for this new role with Tom's Cakes.
