About the opportunity

This is an opportunity to register your interest in future Cybersecurity Consultant roles within organisations looking to strengthen their security posture and defend against evolving threats. Roles of this type could support businesses in protecting critical assets, managing risk and maintaining compliance across complex IT environments.

You could be working with teams that are tackling real-world security challenges, implementing defensive measures and helping organisations navigate an increasingly complex threat landscape. The work could involve partnering across infrastructure, development and operations to embed security practices throughout the organisation, with scope to contribute to raising security standards and building resilience.

  • Location: Manchester, Birmingham, London, or nationwide UK

  • Day Rate: £250–280 per day
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

What you would do

Typical responsibilities could include:

  • Supporting the design, implementation and maintenance of security infrastructure and controls
  • Contributing to security assessments, vulnerability testing and penetration testing activities
  • Assisting with threat analysis, incident response and security remediation efforts
  • Collaborating with infrastructure and development teams to embed security best practices
  • Supporting the documentation and communication of security policies and procedures
  • Contributing to compliance monitoring and regulatory reporting where applicable
  • Mentoring junior team members and sharing security knowledge across the organisation

What you could bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

  • 3-5 years' experience in cybersecurity, IT security or a related security discipline
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks, standards and compliance requirements (such as ISO 27001, NIST or PCI DSS)
  • Hands-on experience with security tools, SIEM platforms and network security technologies
  • Understanding of common threat vectors, attack methods and defensive strategies
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment, penetration testing or security auditing
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate security concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Additional strengths could include:

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+ or GIAC qualifications
  • Experience in specific sectors such as financial services, healthcare or critical infrastructure
  • Knowledge of cloud security, application security or secure development practices
  • Experience with security automation and infrastructure-as-code
