Job description

Connect to your Industry

Deloitte is a leading student employer, recruiting thousands of students annually for graduate programmes, apprenticeships, and work experience. We attract a diverse pool of talent and are passionate about positively impacting students' lives and broadening access to professional services.

Join our award-winning Early Careers Recruitment team as a Talent Engagement Assistant Manager, with a specific focus on our South East offices including Reading, Cambridge, Gatwick and Southampton. In this exciting role, you'll connect with students, schools, and universities across this region, building relationships and promoting Deloitte's opportunities. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our firm by attracting and hiring top early career talent, ensuring a robust local talent pipeline for these key locations.

Connect to your career at Deloitte

Deloitte drives progress. Using our vast range of expertise, we help our clients' become leaders wherever they choose to compete. To do this, we invest in outstanding people. We build teams of future thinkers, with diverse talents and backgrounds, and empower them all to reach for and achieve more.

What brings us all together at Deloitte? It’s how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave, our beliefs and our attitudes. In other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

Connect to your opportunity

Ready to make a real impact on the future of Deloitte?

As a Talent Engagement Assistant Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in bringing our national early careers strategy to life within the South East region. You will take ownership of university engagement and schools outreach activity across this geography, responsible for connecting Deloitte with the brightest emerging talent and building meaningful relationships with key stakeholders and students.

You'll be a trusted advisor to the business, working closely with local leaders to tailor our national approach to your region's unique landscape. This means understanding the nuances of your local market and developing targeted engagement plans that resonate with students, parents, teachers, and careers advisors.

A core part of your role is to be a visible presence in your region, representing Deloitte at a variety of events and building strong relationships with schools and universities. Expect a dynamic and varied role, with opportunities to present to large audiences and share your passion for Deloitte. During peak season (October - March), you might attend up to four events a week, offering a fast-paced and rewarding experience. We work flexibly as a team, and during peak season are regularly travelling, attending events both during the day and in the evening.

Beyond execution, we're looking for a creative thinker. You'll analyse data, measure the success of your initiatives, and identify opportunities to enhance our impact. You'll also have the chance to lead strategic projects for the Talent Engagement team, including managing third-party providers, and share your best practices with colleagues across the firm.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

You're passionate about early careers talent. You possess up-to-date knowledge of the UK early careers landscape, specifically within your delivery region. You excel at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You're a data-driven innovator. You analyse recruitment data to inform future strategies and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essentials:

  • Experience in early careers recruitment or talent engagement.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and skill
  • Impactful and confident presenter and host
  • Ability to analyse data and report on findings.
  • Ability to travel regularly to events and offices across your region, and occasionally across the UK.

Desirables:

  • Existing network of contacts within schools and universities.

Human Resources

At Deloitte, Human Resources is transforming. We are already an award-winning HR team but we’re not resting there. We want to make an impact that matters for our people, our clients and for society. To achieve this, we're firmly embedding HR into the business, advising and innovating along with our business leaders.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm). The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process or you can contact the Independence team upon request.
