Job Overview

Join Chelsea Tennis Club, "The Home of Tennis in Chelsea", as an Assistant Tennis Coach! In this energetic role, you will support our junior programme for children aged 3 to 14, assisting with group sessions, organising drills and creating a positive, motivating environment on court. Sessions run at St Luke's Gardens and private courts across Chelsea, on weekday afternoons after school and weekend mornings. This part time position pays £27.50 to £35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, with the opportunity to increase your hours based on performance.

Duties

- Assist the Head Coach and lead coaches in delivering group sessions for children of all levels, from Tots to Yellow ball

- Run warm ups, skills stations and fun games in small groups, following the weekly session plan

- Support players during drills, rallies and match play to improve technique and confidence

- Help monitor safety and safeguarding, making sure every child follows court rules and is looked after

- Give encouragement and positive feedback to keep every child active, included and having fun

- Set up and pack away courts and equipment before and after each session

- Greet parents at drop off and pick up in a friendly, professional way

- Support club events, holiday camps and special tennis activities

- Maintain a positive attitude, foster teamwork and promote good sportsmanship

Qualifications

- LTA Level 1 or Level 2 coaching qualification as a minimum, or an international equivalent

- Enhanced DBS check, issued within the last 3 years or registered on the DBS Update Service - Prior tennis coaching experience, ideally with children

- High energy and passionate about tennis

- Strong communication skills to instruct and motivate children of different ages

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

- Commitment to safety standards and creating an inclusive, respectful atmosphere for all players

- Reliable, punctual and able to commit to regular weekly sessions

- Right to work in the UK

Pay: £27.50-£35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 – 20.0 per week

Work Location: In person
