For nearly 30 years, Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home has been a respected and well-known non-profit organisation in Banbury. We take pride in delivering high-quality care and exceptional dining experiences for our residents. Our vision is rooted in fullness of life, growth, and excellence.

Role Overview

Are you passionate about culinary excellence and creating delightful dining experiences? We are seeking a dedicated Chef to join our team and contribute to the well-being of our residents by preparing nutritious and appetising meals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals that adhere to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of elderly individuals.
  • Maintain compliance with hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure the kitchen remains clean and organised.
  • Follow written and verbal communication effectively.
  • Serve hot and cold food with excellent presentation skills.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.
  • Knowledge of special dietary needs for seniors.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A basic food hygiene certificate is required; if not already obtained, the ability to complete the course is necessary.
  • Knowledge of IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) is preferred but not essential (training provided).

Requirements

  • Culinary certification or relevant experience.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing dietary requirements and preferences.
