Grower

In the heart of the New Forest, Double H are a market leader in indoor plants, supplying UK supermarkets, garden centres and online retailers. We have invested heavily in the most modern plant production facilities in the UK, and are leading the industry with innovative, sustainable and efficient manufacturing practices. We are recruiting for a Grower who will play a pivotal role in assisting the Head Grower in all aspects of crop growing processes and management in our greenhouses, whilst supporting the growing production teams.

The Role

We’re looking for a Grower to join the team, you will liaise directly with the Head Grower to agree day to activities which will include irrigation, chemical and biological applications, environmental and cultural controls to maintain the quality and growing conditions of the crop. This is a great, varied role and the job will include;

  • Use spraying equipment to apply plant protection products and apply biological controls while complying with health and safety measures.
  • Actively look for new ways to reduce plant waste and improve energy efficiency by demonstrating knowledge in growing and plant husbandry processes.
  • Monitor performance of varieties, trials and quality of young plants arriving each week.
  • Identify basic pest and disease issues and report to the Head Grower.
  • Actively participate in weekly crop walks to identify block/crop issues.
  • Regular maintenance of equipment to ensure smooth operation of environment systems.
