Job Title: Green keeper/ Grounds Person
Reporting to: Manager and Company Director
Job overview: Responsible for the maintenance, care and overall appearance of a golf courses and driving range. Maintain a good playing surface and ensure the course offers a consistent challenge and an enjoyable experience to golfers. Working on the golf course, mowing fairways, greens, tees, rough, general maintenance & upkeep, range ball picking, tidying of the golf range, day to day upkeep, and grounds/ gardening works around the clubhouse.
Job Duties/Responsibilities: but not limited to
Mowing greens using ride-on machines and specialist hand mowers.
- Treating greens to ensure consistent playing surfaces.
- Using environmentally friendly treatments to control weeds, fungal diseases and pests when instructed to do so by supervisors or management.
- Cutting new holes on greens.
- Planting and pruning trees and shrubs as required.
- Operating and maintaining machinery and tools.
- Range ball picking
- Assist with efficient maintenance of equipment, machinery, carry out minor repairs and routine maintenance as appropriate – reporting defects/problems promptly. Liaison with Health and Safety Officer when required.
- Overall maintenance of courses, driving range and grounds.
Job Requirements/Skills:
· Early morning, Afternoon and weekend shifts are required and necessary due to being our busiest times.
- Flexibility with working hours to get the job done
- Reliable and able to adapt to situations
- Experience in Green keeping or similar environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge and experience using machinery
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
-Own Transport essential
