Summary:
We are looking for a Key Accounts Pest Control Technician to join our service team based around the Guildford area, who will be responsible for carrying out pest control inspection and treatments in commercial, domestic and public premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- To compete Routine Inspections and reactive works at our Key Accounts
- To write treatment reports for each client at the end of each inspection, advising on work carried out and including recommendations for ways in which the client can help to avoid further pest problems.
- To attend emergency call outs for pest infestations and complete treatments as necessary
- To carry out follow-up visits at sites with on going pest problems
- To maintain diary to ensure all scheduled visits and appointments are completed.
- To record details of work carried out on time sheets
- To assist with service work in other technicians areas when necessary (this may occasionally involve an over night stay in bed and breakfast)
- To identify new business opportunities and pass on to sales team
- To service Electronic Fly Killers
- To undertake minor proofing work to restrict pest access
- To complete risk assessments and work to set procedures to ensure the H&S of you and those at the sites you visit
- To be presentable, polite and provide a positive ‘on brand’ image to all
- To maintain and use vehicle and equipment as per training
- To maintain stock levels within vehicle
- To undertake pigeon shoots using a .22 air rifle
- To provide emergency weekend cover according to rota (currently 6 weekends per annum)
- To ensure compliance of all customer portals and apps to total transparency and reporting
- To revise for and pass both internal and external pest control tests, some of which will be in your own time.
- To complete occasional 'filthy and verminous' clearance jobs
- To maintain and service assets 'outside' & 'inside' the wire
The ideal candidate:
- Hold a full driving license with the ability to read and follow a map (we cannot consider applicants without a full licence)
- The ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
- A comprehensive grasp on the English Language both written and spoken
- An Analytical outlook with problem solving abilities
- A meticulous eye for detail with pride taken in completed work
- The Ability to work to set procedures and follow instructions
- Enthusiastic, positive, personable with a desire to learn and excel in the position
- Must be confident working at height in confined spaces
- Previous experience would be beneficial but not essential as training will be given
Pay and Conditions
- We have 5 grades within the technician role, with basic salary starting at £26,208.00
- Standard working hours are 8:30-5:00, with half an hour lunch break
- As you progress through our grade structure, you can expect OTE + including bonus, overtime and commission
- We are a service providing company and the role will involve regular overtime to meet our client’s needs (the current average is 20 hours per month) and occasional out of hours work.
- Commission is paid on successful sales leads.
- A van is provided for you to work from
- We operate a performance related bonus scheme. The current maximum is £1,500 per annum
- Uniform and Personal Protective Equipment and phone are provided
- You will be paid £16 per month tax free to cover the cost of keeping your van and uniform clean.
- You are paid £15 per day when on call plus the hours you work paid as overtime.
