Location: Bury St Edmunds - with occasional travel to other sites.
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum DOE
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 39 hours per week
Contract Type:Full Time Permanent

Role Overview:
To direct, manage and influence the general management of the site including all hygiene activities. Ensuring the food quality hygiene standards and H&S requirements are met and that all EMCOR GROUP UK and customer policies and procedures are adhered to.
Direct and manage the operational business streams in such a manner as to achieve the objectives and financial targets contained in the approved business plan and maximise the profits available to the Company.
- Supporting the site teams to implement and constantly drive standards for hygiene and housekeeping to meet or surpass the Service Level Agreement and which are consistent across all sites.
- Be the subject matter expert on hygiene matters working with the customer to propose solutions to hygiene challenges. Continuously monitor EMCOR UK processes, looking for improvements and bring industry experience and innovation to raise standards and comply with retailers’ codes of practises.
- To be part of the Site Management team in the day-to-day operations, to ensure that a high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained safely to the agreed KPI’s in all areas.
- Conduct and report monthly on performance to the customer team, including Cleaning updates, pest control and laundry, to highlight any non- conformities raised in audits and other KPI’s as agreed; identifying trends, corrective & preventative actions and put into place plans to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all operational activities of each of the business streams are conducted in accordance with common EMCOR UK policies, standards and procedures, in particular: - Compliance of Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment.
- To liaise with suppliers of services. To arrange review meetings as and when required.
- Report and advise on compliance to ensure that all Food and Feed Safety aspects of the business are conducted in accordance with relevant hygienic requirements. All relevant training requirements agreed with the customer are completed within the agreed time frame.
- Actively support and develop a strong customer care culture and programme throughout all levels of the organisation.
- Ensuring that when personnel changes are made that full training in client requirements is provided which include COSHH, food safety & hygiene.
- Close out non-conformities from external and customer audits, ensuring solutions are documented and adopted by the site.
- Support the Hygiene Operations Manager in raising site standards and assisting with any hygiene driven site projects.

Who you'll be:
- Experience in hygiene supervision in the food industry.
- Enthusiastic approach with a proactive can-do attitude.
- An effective and progressive leader with experience of directing and developing multi disciplined teams.
- Audit experience preferred.
- To be able to work on own initiative and be self-motivated.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Confident communication skills at all levels.
- Builds and sustains great relationships.
- Level 4 or Award in Food Safety Management for Manufacturing or HACCP. (desirable but not essential as training will be given)
- Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications is preferred.
- A proven track record of managing suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Ability and experience in developing strong relationships with customers to support account development.
