Job Description:

Job Title: Quality Assurance Assistant

Company: Millpledge Ltd

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Clarborough, Retford, Nottinghamshire (on-site with some remote working)

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per year (dependent on experience)

Working Hours: 08:00-16:00pm OR 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

Applicants must be able to commute to our DN22 9NA site a minimum of three days per week. Due to the site's location, a full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport are essential.

Role Purpose

To support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across pharmaceutical and medical device operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support regulatory inspections (MHRA, VMD, Trading Standards)
  • Assist with ISO certification audits and customer audits
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with cGxP standards

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Assist with CAPA processes
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Participate in deviation and failure investigations

Documentation & Control

  • Prepare, review, and maintain quality documentation
  • Manage and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure document control and distribution
  • Assist in preparing documentation for product approvals
  • Support license applications for international markets

Systems & Administration

  • Maintain QMS software
  • Track equipment calibration and maintenance schedules
  • Monitor QA inbox and coordinate responses
  • Drafting letters & other documents

Supplier & Training Management

  • Administer supplier qualification documentation
  • Maintain training records and systems

Performance & Improvement

  • Support KPI monitoring and reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement & business growth projects

General Support

  • Provide administrative support to the QA team
  • Maintain records, filing systems, and correspondence
  • Undertake additional duties as required

Essential Qualities

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organised and methodical approach
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Able to learn new concepts and theories
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • Understanding of CAPA, non-conformance and investigation requirements
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong written communication skills, including drafting professional emails and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Full UK driving license required
