Pharmacy experience is useful for this role but not essential. If you do not have a GCSE in Science At minimum grade 4 and above then a Level 2 in Pharmacy will be accepted as a substitute.

We are a well established independent pharmacy seeking a trainee Level 3 Pharmacy Technician to come and join our excellent and friendly team.

The position is for 24 months and comprising of full time hours of 40 hours a week which includes a study day for off the job training which will be a paid day to help support you in your learning journey. A permanent contract may be offered on succesful completion of the training and also based on performance.

You will be undertaking a Pharmacy Technician Training Programme with ACT Integrated (Apprenticeship Pathway) which enables learners, with relevant work experience, to apply for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). This programme will equip learners with the clinical knowledge, confidence, practical and professional skills to practise as pharmacy technicians.

Your day to day responsibilities will include; unpacking and putting away orders, the preparation of prescriptions, working with and providing support to the Pharmacists, assisting the team to achieve business goals and aspirations, providing a high quality customer experience as, assisting with care home services, providing administration support and being able to work with confidential information and follow set processes.

What we need from you

  • GCSE Maths, English & Science At Level 4 (Grade C) or above.
  • If you do not have Science then a Level 2 in pharmacy is also acceptable.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and take your own initiative when required.
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Attention to detail
  • A passion for learning, a willingness to be trained and continuously professionally develop.
  • IT skills and using Email.
  • A professional manner and good quality written and verbal English language skills.

As well as being able to work in the dispensary, you will build relationships with GP surgeries and customers from all walks of life and meet their unique healthcare needs.

The successful applicant should show a commitment to increasing the business by way of delivering a high standard of Customer Service, Patient Sign Ups and developing Pharmacy Sales.

Due to the nature of the industry, you will need to provide a recent Enhanced DBS disclosure at our expense.
