PHLEBOTOMIST - SOUTHAMPTON

PART TIME (1 DAY A WEEK - MONDAY)

COMPETITIVE SALARY - £27,476 + Car Allowance (Full Time Equivalent)

Are you a qualified phlebotomist, experienced with patients in a homecare setting and happy to travel extensively?

Job Description:

As an experienced phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in our phlebotomy project, providing high quality services to breast cancer patients in a homecare setting . Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing venipunctures and other requested venous blood samples from patients with breast cancer.
  • Training patients on how to record accurate ECG readings using a portable device in the patient’s home.
  • Accurately labelling and handling blood samples.
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records.
  • Collaborating with Healthcare Professionals as well as other Apodi team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Educating patients and their families about the procedure and answering any questions they may have.
  • Travelling to pre scheduled appointments.

We are excited to be expanding our Phlebotomy project focused on providing specialized phlebotomy and ECG services for breast cancer patients. We are looking for an experienced phlebotomist to join our compassionate and dedicated team, covering Southampton and surrounding areas.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist with formal evidence of competency and experience.
  • Experience working in a homecare setting.
  • Previous experience of phlebotomy for patients who are undertaking cancer treatment is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver’s licence (max.6 points) and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel extensively depending on the location of patients.
