Job Overview

Hotter is looking for a Creative Retoucher to build campaign imagery that couldn't be captured in a single camera shot. You'll take product and model photography and turn it into finished scenes. That means changing environments, adding elements that were never there, reworking the direction and mood of the light, and applying a strong artistic style. You'll use AI image generation alongside advanced Photoshop compositing.

This is a creative role, not a production retouching role. If most of your experience is in cutouts, background removal or colour correction, this probably isn't the right fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create seasonal and lifestyle campaign imagery by placing photographed products and models into new, built environments.
  • Composite multiple sources (photography, CGI renders and AI-generated elements) into one convincing image.
  • Re-light images so the direction, quality and colour of light match across every element in the scene.
  • Develop and apply distinctive visual styles that fit the campaign brief and stay on brand.
  • Use AI image-generation tools to create environments, props and textures, then refine the results by hand to a commercial standard.
  • Keep up with new AI and design tools, test them, and bring the useful ones into the team's workflow.
  • Work with the Marketing, eCommerce and Product teams to turn creative briefs into finished imagery across all channels.

Skills & Experience Required

  • A portfolio showing advanced compositing and creative retouching, with before and after examples (required with your application).
  • Expert-level Adobe Photoshop, especially compositing, masking, matching perspective, relighting and colour grading.
  • Hands-on experience using AI image generation in professional work, not just experimenting with it.
  • A strong understanding of light, shadow, perspective and scale, so composites look real.
  • A good artistic eye, with the ability to create a mood or look rather than simply clean up an image.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to deliver to deadlines without dropping quality.
