Full job description

This is a hands‑on, in‑office role for a creative, data‑driven social media specialist who can bring multiple leisure brands to life online. You’ll create standout content, jump on trends, analyse performance, and help shape the digital voice of several vibrant businesses across the South East.

Role Overview

The Social Media Specialist manages the organisation’s online presence across multiple leisure brands, ensuring each brand’s voice is engaging, consistent, and aligned with business goals. The role blends content creation, community management, trend‑spotting, and performance analysis to drive measurable growth in reach, engagement, and brand sentiment.

This is an in‑office position with travel required between different business locations. You must have a full UK driving licence and your own car. The role also requires flexible working, including some evenings and weekends, to support events, content capture, and the varied needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Planning

  • Build and manage monthly content calendars for multiple leisure brands.
  • Align content with marketing campaigns, seasonal activity, and brand priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to repurpose or enhance existing assets.

Content Creation

  • Produce high‑quality multimedia content (short‑form video, imagery, graphics, captions) tailored to each platform.
  • Capture on‑site content at leisure venues, sometimes during evenings or weekends.
  • Ensure all content reflects brand tone, visual identity, and accessibility standards.

Trend & Platform Awareness

  • Monitor emerging social trends, audio, formats, and platform updates.
  • Recommend trend‑responsive content ideas to keep brands culturally relevant.
  • Experiment with new features and creative approaches to maximise visibility.

Community Management

  • Engage with audiences across platforms, responding to comments, messages, and reviews in a timely, brand‑appropriate manner.
  • Foster positive conversations and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Support reputation management across all social channels.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Track KPIs including reach, engagement, follower growth, click‑throughs, and conversions.
  • Produce regular performance reports with insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Use analytics to refine content strategy and improve results over time

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with marketing, design, and on‑site teams to gather content and align messaging.
  • Coordinate with external partners or agencies when required.
  • Support wider digital campaigns and brand initiatives.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing social media channels for consumer‑facing brands (leisure, hospitality, lifestyle, or entertainment preferred).
  • Strong creative skills, including video editing, photography, and copywriting.
  • Confident using social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, TikTok analytics, Hootsuite, Later, Sprout).
  • Ability to interpret data and translate insights into strategic improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, trend‑aware mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple brands and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Understanding of SEO, paid social, and influencer marketing is a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • In‑office role based in the South East (not hybrid or remote).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car for travel between business locations.
  • Flexible working hours, including some evenings and weekends, to support events, content capture, and operational needs.

Personal Attributes

  • Creative thinker with a strong eye for detail.
  • Highly organised and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Curious, adaptable, and enthusiastic about digital culture.

Confident engaging with customers and representing brand values online.
