Full job description

Junior Content & Ecommerce Coordinator

£14 per hour | 15 hours per week | Worthing, West Sussex | Six-month fixed-term contract

The opportunity

We are looking for a bright, reliable and ambitious person who wants to build practical experience in content creation, digital marketing and ecommerce.

Working approximately 15 hours across two days each week, you will help promote and grow a fast-moving ecommerce business based in Worthing. You will work closely with the business owner and wider team, contributing to live marketing campaigns, product launches and online sales channels.

This is not an observational internship. You will be given genuine responsibilities and will see how content, marketing and ecommerce decisions translate into engagement, website traffic and sales.

The position is initially offered as a six-month, part-time fixed-term employment contract. If you perform well and the business continues to grow, there may be an opportunity for the role to become permanent, with increased hours and responsibilities. This will depend on performance and future business requirements and cannot be guaranteed.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities will develop as you gain experience, but will include:

  • Helping manage TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook
  • Planning, creating, editing, scheduling and publishing social-media content
  • Producing short-form videos, product photographs, graphics and captions
  • Helping develop and maintain a practical content calendar
  • Responding appropriately to comments and helping build engaged online communities
  • Monitoring performance to understand which content generates engagement, traffic and sales
  • Supporting marketing campaigns, promotions and new-product launches
  • Researching and contacting suitable micro-influencers and content creators
  • Helping coordinate product gifting and tracking influencer results
  • Supporting sales channels including TikTok Shop, Shopify, eBay and Amazon
  • Uploading products, improving listings and organising product images and information
  • Researching competitors, market trends, content ideas and potential new sales channels
  • Using AI tools to support research, content creation and routine marketing activities
  • Supporting additional ecommerce projects and brands as they launch

There may be opportunities to appear in social-media content if you are comfortable doing so, but this is entirely optional.

Who we’re looking for

Previous professional experience in marketing or ecommerce is not required. Training, support and clear guidance will be provided.

We are primarily looking for someone who:

  • Is exceptionally reliable and does what they say they will do
  • Has a strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn
  • Is bright, articulate, numerate and commercially curious
  • Communicates clearly in written and spoken English
  • Is organised and able to manage several smaller tasks accurately
  • Is comfortable using social-media platforms
  • Has creative ideas and an eye for design, photography or video
  • Is confident learning new software and digital tools
  • Can work independently after receiving clear direction
  • Is honest about mistakes and willing to take responsibility
  • Is comfortable in a growing business where priorities can change
  • Is willing to complete essential routine work as well as creative projects
  • Has a genuine interest in content creation, digital marketing, ecommerce, brands or entrepreneurship

Experience with Canva, CapCut,Opus Clip, Adobe tools, Shopify, TikTok Shop, Amazon Seller Central or content-scheduling software would be helpful, but it is not essential.

Personal projects count. If you have created videos, developed a social-media account, sold something online, supported a club or local business, designed graphics or experimented with content creation, we would be interested in hearing about it.

The position may particularly appeal to a college leaver, current student or someone at an early stage in their career. However, applications are welcomed from anyone who can demonstrate the qualities and potential required for the role.

What you’ll gain

You will have the opportunity to develop practical experience in:

  • Social-media marketing
  • Content planning and creation
  • Photography and short-form video editing
  • Influencer and creator outreach
  • Ecommerce platforms and online marketplaces
  • Product launches
  • Brand development
  • Marketing analytics
  • Customer and buying behaviour
  • AI-enabled marketing tools
  • The day-to-day operation of a growing ecommerce business

Role details

  • Pay: £14 per hour
  • Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week, normally across two agreed days
  • Additional hours: May occasionally be available during busy periods, campaigns and product launches, by mutual agreement
  • Location: Worthing, West Sussex – primarily workplace-based
  • Contract: Six-month, part-time fixed-term employment contract
  • Start date: As soon as reasonably possible
  • Future opportunity: Potential to become permanent or increase in hours and responsibility, subject to performance and business requirements

How to apply

Please apply through LinkedIn with:

  • A short CV or summary of your education and any employment, volunteering or personal-project experience.
  • A short explanation of why content creation and ecommerce interest you.
  • An example of a social-media account, video, design, campaign or piece of content you admire, with a few sentences explaining why you think it is effective.
  • Details of your availability and whether you could occasionally work additional hours.

You are also welcome to include a short 30–60 second introductory video, but this is completely optional. Candidates who do not submit a video will not be disadvantaged.

We welcome applicants from different backgrounds and routes into work. Selection will be based on reliability, potential, attitude and suitability for the responsibilities of the role.
