The opportunity
We are looking for a detail-focused Content Editor with a strong eye for imagery to shape, refine and maintain Blakely's visual content across our digital channels.
Image editing and retouching will sit at the heart of this role. You will help ensure that product, campaign, lifestyle and editorial imagery is polished, consistent and unmistakably on-brand - supporting launches, marketing activity and the online customer experience.
Working closely with our creative, marketing and e-commerce teams, you will combine technical editing ability with sound creative judgement to deliver high-quality assets at pace.
What you'll be doing
Image editing and retouching
- Retouch product, campaign, lifestyle and editorial imagery so every asset meets Blakely's visual standards.
- Refine product and model photography by removing marks, creases, lint and other imperfections while retaining natural skin and fabric texture.
- Complete colour correction and tonal adjustments, ensuring products are represented accurately and consistently across image sets.
- Carry out detailed cut-outs, masking, background removal and image compositing to create clean, consistent e-commerce assets.
- Maintain consistency in positioning, scale, lighting, shadows, framing and overall visual style.
- Crop, resize and optimise imagery for the website, email, social media and paid advertising without compromising quality.
- Complete quality-control checks before assets are approved, ensuring imagery is accurate, correctly named and supplied in the appropriate format.
- Use efficient, non-destructive editing techniques and batch-processing tools to manage high volumes of imagery.
Campaign, e-commerce and social content
- Edit and deliver imagery for product launches, campaigns, promotions and key trading periods.
- Work with the e-commerce team to optimise imagery for the online customer journey and conversion.
- Support the creation and delivery of website banners in line with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
- Prepare content and assets for Instagram, TikTok and other social channels, adapting formats to suit each platform.
- Support shoot preparation and on-set activity, helping the wider creative team deliver an organised and efficient shoot.
Creative workflow and collaboration
- Collaborate with photographers, designers, marketers and creative leads throughout the content process.
- Manage feedback rounds and implement amends accurately and efficiently.
- Organise and manage creative assets so files are easy to locate, use and repurpose.
- Balance multiple priorities and deliver assets to agreed deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Stay informed about editing techniques, digital formats and evolving creative and social trends.
What you'll bring
Essential
- A portfolio or practical examples demonstrating strong image-editing, retouching and post-production ability.
- Confident proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and familiarity with the wider Adobe Creative Cloud.
- A sharp eye for detail, with a strong understanding of colour correction, image consistency and visual quality.
- An understanding of brand identity and the ability to adapt imagery across different digital channels.
- Strong organisation, accuracy and the ability to manage several deadlines at once.
- A collaborative, positive approach and confidence communicating with different creative and commercial teams.
Desirable
- Experience in a fashion, e-commerce or creative environment, gained through employment, freelance work or an internship.
- Experience retouching apparel imagery, including fabric texture, garment colour accuracy and natural-looking skin finishes.
- Experience creating ghost-mannequin, cut-out or composite product imagery.
- Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom or Camera Raw.
- Experience supporting photoshoots, including image selection, styling support or post-production workflows.
- Experience using a digital asset management system or organising large volumes of creative content.
What success looks like
- High-quality imagery that consistently reflects Blakely's visual identity and creative standards.
- Accurate, channel-ready assets delivered on time for campaigns, launches and day-to-day trading activity.
- Strong working relationships across the creative, marketing and e-commerce teams.
- Continual improvement in image quality, editing efficiency and creative workflows.
About you
You are detail-obsessed, visually aware and calm under pressure. You combine creative instinct with technical skill, enjoy working collaboratively and take pride in delivering polished work. An interest in fashion, culture and emerging content trends will help you thrive in the role.
How to apply
Please apply with your CV and a portfolio or examples of relevant image-editing work. We are interested in the quality of your work and creative judgement, whether your experience has been gained through employment, freelance projects, education or an internship.
