Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Photographer specialising in maternity and newborn photography to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in capturing intimate moments, and proficiency with industry-standard editing software. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing environment, creating timeless images that celebrate the beginning of new life. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to delivering high-quality visual storytelling through photography.
Responsibilities
- Conduct professional maternity and newborn photo sessions in studio or on-location settings, ensuring a comfortable experience for clients.
- Utilise advanced photographic techniques to capture emotive and high-quality images that meet client expectations.
- Edit photographs using programmes such as Adobe Photoshop, Capture One, and other Adobe Creative Suite tools to enhance image quality while maintaining natural aesthetics.
- Manage post-production workflows efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of edited images.
- Maintain and organise photographic equipment, props, and studio environment to ensure readiness for sessions.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and provide guidance on poses, lighting, and styling choices.
- Manage social media accounts by creating engaging content that showcases recent work and promotes the studio’s services.
- Stay updated with current photography trends, techniques, and software updates to continually improve skills and service quality.
Skills
- Proven experience in maternity and newborn photography with a strong portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Capture One, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite for photo editing and video editing as required.
- Excellent knowledge of photography principles including lighting, composition, and colour correction.
- Strong editing skills with an eye for detail to produce polished images suitable for client delivery.
- Ability to manage social media platforms effectively for marketing purposes.
- Good communication skills to liaise professionally with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Organised with the ability to handle multiple sessions simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Creative flair combined with professionalism and a friendly demeanour that puts clients at ease during shoots.
