Full-Time Vehicle Operations Assistant – Derby

Derwent Motors Ltd – Swarkestone, Derby

We’re looking for a full-time, motivated, hands-on Vehicle Operations Assistant to join our growing automotive business. This is a varied, active role for someone who loves working with cars, can drive confidently, and wants a job where every day is different.

About the Role

You’ll support the day-to-day running of the business, including:

  • Confidently driving and moving vehicles around the site
  • Travelling across the UK to collect vehicles (fuel paid)
  • Taking high-quality photos & videos for Autotrader, Website and social media
  • Preparing vehicles for sale when required (basic valeting, organising car packs, checking documents)
  • Keeping the showroom and offices tidy and organised
  • Helping with customer viewings & test drives including preparing documents and organising finance applications
  • Assisting with stock arrivals (checking condition, helping with appraisals)
  • General operational support wherever neededThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys being active, working outdoors, and being around cars all day.⭐ What We’re Looking For
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Confident driver — comfortable driving all types of vehicles mainly BMW, Audi and Mercedes
  • Reliable, motivated, and switched-on. Can work on own initiative and make the right decisions under pressure in ever differing situations
  • Able to work 4–7 days per week
  • Flexible availability between 7am and 9pm
  • Good eye for detail (photos, presentation, organisation)
  • Motor trade experience preferred but not essential
  • Someone who takes pride in their work and wants to grow with the business
