Full job description
JNJ Detailing Ltd – Halesowen, Birmingham
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per year, depending on experience
Performance bonus: Available for exceptional results
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Work location: In person at our Halesowen studio
The opportunity
JNJ Detailing is looking for a confident, creative and naturally engaging Automotive Content Creator to become one of the main faces of our brand.
This is not a behind-the-scenes editing-only position.
You will regularly present on camera, create original short-form content ideas, film premium vehicles and turn what happens inside our studio into entertaining videos people want to watch, share and respond to.
We want someone who is:
- Confident and natural on camera
- Full of original content ideas
- Able to capture attention quickly
- Comfortable filming around premium vehicles
- Capable of editing engaging short-form videos
- Interested in becoming a recognisable face of JNJ
You do not need to be a technical marketing analyst or paid advertising specialist.
You do need to understand what makes content interesting, how to speak confidently to an audience and how to turn an idea into a finished video.
About JNJ
JNJ is a fast-growing automotive wrapping and vehicle-protection studio based in Halesowen.
We specialise in:
- Paint Protection Film
- Stealth PPF transformations
- Colour-change PPF
- Ceramic coatings
- Detailing
- Premium vehicle protection
We regularly work with vehicles from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Aston Martin, Range Rover, BMW M, Mercedes-AMG, Audi RS and other luxury and performance manufacturers.
JNJ already has an established social audience of approximately 300,000 followers across its platforms.
You will have access to premium cars, transformations, customer stories, workshop activity and a team that produces strong visual content opportunities every day.
The role
You will be responsible for developing, presenting, filming and editing short-form content for:
- TikTok
- Instagram Reels
- YouTube Shorts
- Facebook Reels
- JNJ advertising campaigns
Most of the content will be designed to gain organic traction, entertain viewers, build the JNJ brand and increase engagement.
You will also create selected advert-style videos that introduce our services, address customer problems and generate qualified enquiries.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable moving between:
- Presenter-led videos
- User-generated content style videos
- Behind-the-scenes content
- Vehicle transformations
- Entertaining automotive content
- Educational videos
- Customer problem and objection videos
- Interviews and team content
- Organic social content
- Direct-response advertising content
What you will be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Regularly presenting in JNJ’s videos
- Becoming a confident and recognisable face of the company
- Researching current automotive and social-media content trends
- Developing original video ideas, formats and recurring series
- Writing hooks, scripts and talking points
- Planning weekly content around vehicles arriving at the studio
- Filming cars, installations, transformations and workshop activity
- Directing other team members when they appear in content
- Editing videos for short-form social platforms
- Adding captions, voiceovers, music and sound where appropriate
- Creating strong opening hooks that stop viewers scrolling
- Producing content designed for retention, comments, shares and saves
- Creating natural advert-style videos for JNJ’s services
- Publishing or preparing content for publication
- Reviewing which ideas and formats perform best
- Turning successful videos into repeatable content series
- Maintaining an organised library of footage and finished content
- Working independently without relying on the founders for every idea
On-camera presenting
Being comfortable on camera is an essential part of this position.
You may be required to:
- Introduce vehicles and customer stories
- Explain what work is being completed
- Present transformations
- Interview technicians or customers
- Deliver scripted and unscripted videos
- Explain automotive services in simple language
- Speak directly to potential customers
- Present advert-style videos
- Repeat takes and respond positively to direction
You do not need to sound like a traditional television presenter.
We want someone who feels natural, confident, likeable and credible on social media.
Your personality should come through without the content feeling forced, overly corporate or scripted.
Content expectations
You will be expected to produce a consistent output of strong short-form content.
A typical week may include:
- Presenter-led automotive videos
- Workshop and behind-the-scenes content
- PPF transformations
- Entertaining or curiosity-driven videos
- Educational vehicle-protection content
- Customer questions and objections
- Staff-led content
- UGC-style advert videos
- Variations of successful formats
Quality matters more than publishing weak content simply to hit a number.
However, you must be able to work quickly and consistently within a busy studio environment.
We would expect approximately five to seven strong short-form videos per week, depending on the complexity of the content.
Organic content
For organic videos, you should understand how to create:
- Strong opening hooks
- Scroll-stopping first frames
- Curiosity
- Clear stories and payoffs
- Fast and purposeful pacing
- Relatable opinions or problems
- Reasons for people to comment
- Shareable moments
- Satisfying transformations
- Recurring formats and series
We are looking for more than cinematic footage of cars with music.
The video must give someone a reason to stop, watch and react.
Advert-style content
You will also help create social-first advertisements.
These should feel natural to TikTok and Instagram rather than like traditional corporate adverts.
You should be able to:
- Identify a specific customer problem
- Speak directly to the target customer
- Explain the value of a service
- Establish trust
- Address common concerns
- Use real vehicles and workshop footage as proof
- Include a clear next action
- Create different hooks and versions for testing
You will work with the wider marketing team on advert requirements. You will not be expected to manage advertising accounts or paid-media campaigns.
What we are looking for
You may currently work as a:
- Content Creator
- UGC Creator
- Social Media Content Creator
- Videographer
- Video Editor
- Social Media Executive
- Presenter
- Influencer or personal-brand creator
- Automotive content creator
Professional automotive experience is beneficial but not essential.
We care more about whether you can confidently present, develop good ideas and create videos people genuinely want to watch.
Essential requirements
You must:
- Be confident and comfortable presenting on camera
- Have examples of short-form content you have personally created
- Be able to film and edit social-media videos
- Understand hooks, pacing and audience attention
- Be able to generate ideas independently
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Be comfortable around premium customer vehicles
- Accept feedback and repeat takes when required
- Work efficiently in a fast-moving environment
- Be organised and dependable
- Be available to work full-time from Halesowen
- Have a genuine interest in social media and content creation
Desirable experience
It would be beneficial to have:
- UGC creation experience
- Automotive content experience
- Experience building a personal or company brand
- Experience producing presenter-led content
- Experience creating content for TikTok and Instagram
- Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro or similar software
- Basic photography skills
- Experience creating advertising content
- Understanding of social-media performance metrics
- A driving licence
A degree is not required.
Your portfolio, personality, ideas and practical ability matter more than formal qualifications.
This role will not suit someone who
- Only wants to edit footage supplied by other people
- Is uncomfortable appearing on camera
- Needs every content idea provided to them
- Produces only slow cinematic montages
- Struggles to speak naturally without reading a full script
- Avoids feedback or repeated takes
- Is interested only in photography rather than video
- Wants a remote content role
- Does not follow current social-media content
- Cannot work consistently to deadlines
- Waits for inspiration rather than creating a reliable process
What success looks like
You will be succeeding when:
- You confidently represent JNJ on camera
- Content is published consistently
- Videos have strong hooks and hold attention
- Engagement, shares, saves and comments improve
- Successful formats are identified and repeated
- The company has a consistent and recognisable content style
- Workshop activity is turned into strong content opportunities
- JNJ becomes more visible to premium vehicle owners
- Advert-style videos generate qualified customer interest
- You bring ideas rather than waiting to be given them
- Jake and Joe do not need to manage every video personally
What we offer
- £40,000–£50,000 salary, depending on experience
- Performance-related bonus opportunity
- Full-time permanent employment
- Monday-to-Friday schedule
- Company pension
- On-site parking
- Access to premium, luxury and performance vehicles
- An established audience of approximately 300,000 followers
- A constant supply of visually strong content opportunities
- Creative ownership over ideas and formats
- Direct access to the founders
- Opportunity to become a recognised face of a growing automotive brand
- Progression as the content and marketing department expands
Recruitment process
Our recruitment process is designed to assess practical ability rather than relying only on a CV.
Shortlisted candidates may complete:
- An initial video interview
- A live on-camera presentation exercise
- An in-person paid practical content session
During the practical session, candidates may be asked to create:
- One organic video designed to gain traction
- One advert-style video designed to generate customer interest
This allows both sides to understand whether the role is the right fit.
How to apply
Please submit your CV together with links to examples of content you have personally created.
Your application should clearly show:
- Videos where you appear on camera
- Short-form videos you have filmed or edited
- Your personal contribution to each example
- Any measurable results
- The platforms you have created content for
Pay: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- On-site parking
Application question(s):
- Are you comfortable being one of the regular on-camera faces of JNJ and presenting in several videos each week?
- Can you work full-time from our Halesowen studio, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm?
- Describe one short-form video you created that performed strongly. What was your role and what results did it achieve?

- What are your salary expectations and current notice period?
