Part-Time Content Producer & Social Media Manager

Location: Kingsway Centre, Newport
Job Type: Part-time
Hours: Flexible part-time hours, including regular weekend working
Working Pattern: On-site role with weekend and event coverage required
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

Kingsway Centre is looking for a creative, confident and hands-on Content Producer & Social Media Manager to help bring our growing family of Newport venue brands to life online.

This is a practical, on-site role for someone who loves creating content, spotting opportunities, filming reels, capturing real moments and turning social media activity into measurable footfall, bookings and engagement.

You will work across several exciting brands within Kingsway Centre, including Kingsway Centre, Little Kingdom, The Market and Queens Hair & Beauty. Each brand has its own audience, tone and commercial focus, so we are looking for someone who can adapt their style while keeping content fresh, engaging and consistent.

This role will involve regular weekend working, as many of our busiest trading periods, events, family activities, live music sessions and market moments happen at weekends. You must be comfortable being on site, capturing content in real time and working closely with venue teams, traders, tenants and customers.

Key Responsibilities

The role will include:

  • Planning, filming and editing short-form video content for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
  • Creating engaging reels, stories, posts, captions and basic graphics across multiple venue brands.
  • Capturing on-site content during events, busy trading periods, live music, seasonal activity and family-focused campaigns.
  • Managing day-to-day social media activity, including scheduling, posting and community engagement.
  • Supporting campaigns that drive footfall, bookings, trader enquiries and customer awareness.
  • Creating content for Little Kingdom, including parties, character appearances, parent work areas and family experiences.
  • Promoting The Market as a lively food, craft, trader and live-music destination.
  • Showcasing Queens Hair & Beauty services, team expertise and appointment-led content.
  • Supporting Kingsway Centre campaigns, including seasonal events, tenant activity and centre-wide promotions.
  • Identifying local collaboration opportunities with creators, businesses, community groups and tenants.
  • Monitoring performance and providing simple updates on what content is working well.
  • Working with the wider team to make sure content is timely, accurate and commercially useful.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Confident creating reels, TikToks, stories and engaging social content.
  • Comfortable filming and editing content on a phone or camera.
  • Creative, proactive and able to spot a good content opportunity without waiting to be told.
  • Strong at writing captions and adapting tone for different audiences.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple pages, brands and priorities.
  • Comfortable working on site and interacting with staff, traders, tenants and customers.
  • Available to work weekends and attend key events when required.
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding that social media should help drive bookings, visits, enquiries and sales.
  • Passionate about Newport, local businesses, family venues, food, beauty, events or community-led spaces.

Essential Skills

  • Experience creating social media content for Instagram, Facebook and/or TikTok.
  • Strong understanding of reels, short-form video and current social media trends.
  • Basic video editing skills.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Willingness to work on site at Kingsway Centre in Newport.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and occasional evenings around events.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in hospitality, leisure, retail, beauty, events, family attractions or destination marketing.
  • Experience using Canva, CapCut, Meta Business Suite or similar tools.
  • Basic photography skills.
  • Experience managing business social media pages.
  • Understanding of Meta ads or boosted posts.
  • Knowledge of Newport and the local business/community scene.

Why Join Us?

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to build a visible, varied and creative role across several growing local brands.

You will not be stuck behind a desk. You will be on site, capturing real moments, supporting exciting campaigns and helping shape the online presence of some of Newport’s most active leisure, retail, beauty and community spaces.

You will play a key role in helping us grow awareness, drive footfall and turn attention into real action.

How to Apply

Please apply with your CV and include examples of content you have created. This could include links to social media pages, reels, TikToks, campaigns, photography, graphics or personal content that shows your style.

Please also include a short note explaining why this role interests you and your availability for weekend work.
