Media Teacher

Think FE is working with a well-established further education college in Derbyshire to recruit a Media Teacher for an ongoing temporary assignment.

The college has a strong creative and digital curriculum, with dedicated facilities supporting areas such as media production, animation, photography, graphic design and digital content. There is a clear focus on practical, career-led learning and helping students develop skills that reflect the needs of the creative industries.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong media or creative background who can bring subject knowledge, industry awareness and an engaging approach to the classroom.

The role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging Media teaching to further education learners, supporting them to develop both their creative abilities and technical skills.

Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering lessons, assessing learner work and providing constructive feedback. You will help students work confidently across creative projects while ensuring they make good progress towards their qualifications.

Experience of teaching or assessing BTEC and/or UAL qualifications would be particularly valuable.

What we're looking for

You should have a Level 4 qualification or above in Media or a related creative discipline. Relevant subject areas could include:

  • Graphic Design
  • Motion Graphics
  • UI/UX
  • Digital Media
  • Creative Media Production
  • A closely related discipline

A PGCE or recognised teaching qualification would be advantageous, although applicants with strong industry experience and the ability to engage FE learners are also encouraged to apply.

You should be confident communicating your subject knowledge, supporting learners with different abilities and maintaining an organised and positive learning environment.
