Freelance Retail Content Creator – Typically 1 Day Every Fortnight

Location: Kirkintilloch, Glasgow
Contract: Freelance / Self-employed
Commitment: Typically 1 day every fortnight (approximately 2 days per month)
Day Rate: £200–£350 depending on experience

We are an independent retailer operating two busy convenience stores in Kirkintilloch, Glasgow, with an exciting new Food to Go business launching soon.

We're looking for a talented, commercially minded Freelance Content Creator to work with us on an ongoing basis, typically spending one day with us every fortnight creating engaging video, photography and social content for our stores.

This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to make things look pretty on Instagram.

We want content that makes people think:

"I need to try that."
"That's a great deal."
"I didn't know they delivered!"
"I'm going there for dinner tonight."

If you love turning everyday products, food, offers and local businesses into content people actually want to watch, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

Typically every fortnight, you'll spend a day working across our Kirkintilloch stores capturing fresh content for the weeks ahead.

You'll be responsible for:

• Planning content ideas with us ahead of each visit
• Filming engaging short-form videos for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
• Creating Reels and other social-first video content
• Editing footage into polished, ready-to-post videos
• Taking high-quality product, food and store photography
• Creating simple promotional graphics using Canva or similar
• Coming up with creative ways to showcase promotions, products and services
• Helping willing members of our team feel comfortable taking part in videos
• Creating content around seasonal events and retail opportunities
• Producing content to promote our local grocery delivery service
• Creating exciting content around our new Food to Go offering
• Building a bank of quality content that we can use between your visits

We don't expect every video to feature staff. We'd love someone creative enough to make products, food, offers and the stores themselves the stars too.

Who We're Looking For

You may already be a freelance content creator, videographer or social media professional looking for regular, ongoing clients.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience creating short-form social media content
• Strong video filming and editing skills
• A great eye for photography and composition
• A good understanding of Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
• Experience using Canva or similar design software
• The confidence to suggest ideas rather than waiting to be told exactly what to film
• An understanding that great commercial content ultimately needs to help a business sell
• Good organisation and the ability to plan content ahead
• A friendly, approachable personality – you'll be working around our customers and team

Experience creating content for retail, food, hospitality or other consumer-facing businesses would be particularly valuable.

What We're NOT Looking For

We're not looking for someone to simply create generic graphics or make our social media look pretty.

We're looking for someone who can come into our businesses, spot opportunities and say:

"I've got an idea – let's film this."

We want energy, creativity and commercial thinking.

The Opportunity

This is an ongoing freelance assignment of typically one day every fortnight – approximately two days per month.

Additional work may also be available around major campaigns, seasonal events, launches and other projects.

We're investing significantly in growing our businesses and want to build a long-term relationship with the right creative person.

You'll have plenty to work with – busy convenience stores, new products, promotions, local delivery, seasonal campaigns and a brand-new Food to Go business.

Most importantly, you'll be working with a business that genuinely values marketing and is willing to try new ideas.
