We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hands-on Studio Technician to join our busy photography studio on a temporary zero-hours contract through our busiest period of the year.

This role would suit someone who is confident working around babies and children, enjoys a fast-paced environment and is happy getting involved with all aspects of keeping a busy photography studio running smoothly.

Previous photography or studio experience is welcome but absolutely not essential. Full training will be provided.

However, previous experience working with children is essential.

The role

As a Studio Technician, you will work alongside our photographers and studio team, helping sessions run safely, smoothly and efficiently.

Your duties will include:

Assisting photographers during studio sessions
Helping engage, settle and interact with babies and children during shoots
Setting up and packing away photography sets, backdrops and equipment
Preparing props, outfits and accessories for upcoming sessions
Resetting the studio between appointments
Moving and organising studio equipment and props
Keeping studio and customer areas clean, tidy and presentable
Assisting with reception and customer-facing duties when required
Helping customers during their visit to the studio
Supporting the wider team during particularly busy periods
General studio duties as required

We photograph everything from newborn babies and first birthdays through to families, siblings and seasonal sessions, so no two days are quite the same.

What we're looking for

Previous experience working with children

Happy working in a busy, fast-paced environment
Able to take direction and learn quickly
Fully flexible Wednesday–Sunday, including weekends
Available to start as soon as possible

Our studio is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Hours will be completely variable depending on business requirements, and as this is a zero-hours position, there are no guaranteed weekly hours.

Photography experience

Photography, studio or camera experience would be an advantage, but it is not required.

We are much more interested in finding someone who is confident with children, dependable and willing to learn. Full training on our studio procedures, equipment and way of working will be provided.

DBS

Due to the nature of our work with children, the successful applicant will require the appropriate DBS check. We will arrange this for the successful candidate.

Contract

This is a temporary position running until 19 December 2026 to provide additional support during our busiest season.
