We want someone to make electrical work interesting.

0800 Rewire is a growing domestic electrical company working across the North East.

Every week our teams are rewiring homes, carrying out electrical inspections, finding faults, upgrading old electrics and coming across things that most homeowners never get to see.

There's a huge amount of content happening every day.

We're looking for someone who can find it, film it and turn it into content people actually want to watch.

This isn't a traditional social media manager role.

We don't want someone sitting in the office creating generic graphics and posting them three times a week.

We want a Content Creator / Videographer who will regularly get out with our electricians, visit real jobs, find interesting stories, ask questions and create engaging content around what we do.

You don't need to know anything about electrics when you start.

We'll teach you that.

What we need is someone who already knows how to create great content.

What you'll be doing

You'll have a lot of freedom to find and develop content ideas.

Your role will include:

• Visiting our jobs across the North East to capture content
• Filming our electricians carrying out real electrical work
• Finding interesting faults, installations, transformations and stories
• Getting members of the team involved in videos
• Filming educational and behind-the-scenes content
• Creating short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube
• Creating longer-form YouTube content where appropriate
• Taking high-quality photos and before/after content
• Capturing customer testimonials
• Editing videos including hooks, subtitles, B-roll and graphics
• Repurposing content across different platforms
• Helping plan our ongoing content strategy
• Monitoring what's working and developing more of it
• Creating content that showcases what it's like to work at 0800 Rewire and helps us attract great people to the team

Ultimately, we want you to help make 0800 Rewire one of the most recognisable domestic electrical companies in the North East.

Who we're looking for

We're more interested in what you can create than what's written on your CV.

You could be a great fit if you're:

• Naturally creative
• Confident around different people
• Comfortable approaching someone and asking them to get involved in a video
• Good at spotting stories and interesting moments
• Experienced creating and editing video content
• Comfortable producing short-form vertical video
• Familiar with platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube
• Able to work independently and generate your own ideas
• Curious and willing to ask lots of questions
• Organised with footage, projects and deadlines
• Comfortable spending time on building sites and travelling between jobs
• Interested in why content performs, rather than just how it looks
• Commercially minded and understands that ultimately our content needs to help grow the business

You don't need a marketing degree.

You don't need electrical experience.

And you don't need years of agency experience.

If you've got a great eye for content and can show us what you can create, we're interested.

Our hiring process is a little different

We're not going to choose someone for this role just because they're good at interviews.

We want to see what you can actually do.

Our recruitment process will include:

1. Application & portfolio
Show us content you've personally created.

2. Informal interview
We'll get to know you, show you some of the work we do and throw some content ideas at you.

3. Practical content challenge
Shortlisted candidates will be given some raw 0800 Rewire footage and asked to turn it into a piece of short-form content.

4. Paid half-day trial
Final candidates will spend half a day with us on a real job.

We'll essentially say:

"Pretend you've already got the job. Show us what you'd create."

We're looking for someone who sees opportunities rather than waiting to be told exactly what to do.
