Full job description

E-commerce & Social Media Manager

Watchtrader & Co – Jesmond, Newcastle upon TyneSalary: £32,000–£36,000 per yearFull-time

About Watchtrader & Co

Watchtrader & Co is a specialist luxury watch retailer based in Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne.

We buy, sell and source some of the world’s most desirable watches from leading brands including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Cartier, Omega and Tudor.

We’re looking for a creative, organised and commercially minded E-commerce & Social Media Manager to take responsibility for how our watches are presented across our website, online marketplaces and social media channels.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining e-commerce, product imagery, social media management and content creation. You’ll work closely with our sales team and photographer/videographer to turn the day-to-day activities of a fast-moving luxury watch business into engaging online content.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of our online product presentation and day-to-day social media activity.

One part of your day could involve editing and uploading imagery for a newly arrived Rolex; the next could involve capturing a watch being purchased in-store, presenting a new arrival on Instagram Stories or working with our videographer to create a Reel or TikTok.

We’re looking for someone who can bring creativity, consistency and fresh ideas to the role while maintaining the high standards expected from a luxury brand.

E-commerce & Product Management

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining product listings across our website and online sales channels.
  • Uploading new watches quickly and accurately as stock becomes available.
  • Ensuring product information, specifications, pricing and imagery are presented consistently across all platforms.
  • Editing and preparing high-quality watch photography using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Retouching, cropping, resizing and optimising product imagery for our website, marketplaces and social media.
  • Managing online stock and ensuring sold or unavailable watches are updated promptly.
  • Maintaining a consistently high standard of presentation across our digital platforms.
  • Working closely with the sales team to ensure new and priority stock is promoted effectively.

Social Media & Content Creation

You’ll take an active role in developing and growing the Watchtrader & Co social media presence across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing a clear and consistent social media strategy.
  • Creating and presenting fresh, engaging daily content.
  • Capturing the day-to-day activity within our showroom, including new arrivals, watches being bought and sold, customer deals and interesting pieces passing through the business.
  • Confidently presenting watches on camera, explaining key features and creating engaging watch-focused content.
  • Producing regular Instagram Stories showcasing watches currently available for sale.
  • Working alongside our photographer/videographer to create high-quality Reels, TikToks, Stories and other video content.
  • Planning, scheduling and publishing posts across our social media channels.
  • Developing new content ideas and identifying relevant trends that can be adapted for the luxury watch market.
  • Monitoring engagement, reach, audience growth and enquiries to understand what content performs best.
  • Helping develop a recognisable personality and consistent tone for the Watchtrader & Co brand online.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is creative, organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll need to be someone who sees an interesting watch arrive or a deal happening in the showroom and immediately thinks about how it could become great content.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience managing social media accounts for a business or brand.
  • Strong knowledge of Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
  • Experience creating Reels, Stories and short-form video content.
  • Confidence appearing and speaking on camera.
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Strong visual attention to detail.
  • Experience working with e-commerce platforms or managing online product listings.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • The ability to plan your workload while also reacting quickly to opportunities throughout the day.
  • A commercial mindset and an understanding that great content should ultimately help generate engagement, enquiries and sales.

Experience in watches, jewellery, luxury retail, fashion, or another premium product environment would be an advantage but isn’t essential.

Why Join Watchtrader & Co?

This isn’t a traditional desk-based social media or e-commerce position.

You’ll be working directly with an ever-changing selection of luxury watches and will have the opportunity to play a major role in shaping how Watchtrader & Co presents itself online.

We’re looking for someone who wants to take ownership of the role, bring new ideas to the business, and help us significantly develop our digital and social media presence.

If you’re passionate about e-commerce, social media, content creation and luxury products, we’d love to hear from you.
