Social Media Content Creator & Brand Ambassador

Cash Monkey - Ilkeston, East Midlands

£25,500 per annum | Full-time | Permanent | 37.5 hours per week

We're looking for someone to create AND put a face to Cash Monkey’s social media

content, bringing personality, humour and creativity to our TikTok, Instagram and

Facebook channels.

Please note: This is an on-camera social media role, not a photography or videography

position. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are also essential due to

regular travel between our six East Midlands stores.

About Cash Monkey

Cash Monkey is the East Midlands' largest independent pawnbroker, with six stores across

Ilkeston, Nottingham, Mansfield, Bulwell, Beeston and Long Eaton.

Our stores have a constantly changing range of new and pre-owned stock, from jewellery

and watches to gaming, tech, tools and plenty more.

We're now looking for someone to help us turn that stock and the personality behind Cash

Monkey into social media content people actually want to watch.

The Role

We want to build a social media presence that's fun, upbeat, recognisable and full of

personality.

Think about the way brands such as Currys and Aldi have built personalities on social

media. Their content doesn't rely on highly polished product videos or perfect graphics, it's

the ideas, humour, people and personality that make you stop scrolling.

That's the direction we want to take Cash Monkey.

You'll become one of the recognisable faces of our social channels, regularly talking to

camera, presenting products and getting involved in entertaining, personality-led content.

At the same time, you'll be the person behind the ideas.

With different stock arriving across six stores every day, we need someone who can look at

a product and think about what would make someone stop and watch it on TikTok or

Instagram.

You'll take an idea from concept to planning, filming, appearing on camera, editing, writing

captions and reviewing performance to understand what we should create more of.

What You'll Be Doing

- Regularly appear and speak on camera across Cash Monkey's social content

- Create Reels, TikToks, Stories and other short-form content

- Develop creative ideas around the new and pre-owned stock arriving in our stores

- Create entertaining, humorous and personality-led content that builds the Cash

Monkey brand

- Find ways to make products interesting and desirable without every post feeling like

an advert

- Research relevant trends, formats and social conversations we can put our own spin

on

- Visit all six Cash Monkey stores regularly to capture content

- Work with our branch teams and encourage different personalities to get involved

- Plan, edit, write, schedule and publish content across TikTok, Instagram and

Facebook

- Monitor performance and use insights to shape future content and recurring ideas

Who We're Looking For

You might already work in social media, create content for another business, freelance, have

your own TikTok or Instagram presence or be looking for the opportunity to turn something

you're naturally good at into a career.

Personality, creativity and social media instinct matter more to us than having the

perfect CV. (which is why we’re asking for something from you when you apply)

For this role, you need to:

- Be genuinely confident speaking and presenting on camera

- Be comfortable becoming a recognisable face of Cash Monkey online

- Have personality and be willing to get involved in funny and entertaining content

- Understand what makes people stop and watch content on TikTok and Instagram

- Be able to generate your own ideas rather than simply being given something to film

- Be comfortable filming and editing short-form content, primarily using a smartphone

- Be confident working with different people and encouraging others to appear in

content

- Be organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of your workload

- Hold a full UK driving licence

- Have access to your own vehicle for regular travel between our stores

- Experience using CapCut, Instagram Edits, Canva or similar platforms would be beneficial.

Training & Development

Full training and mentoring will be provided.We're hiring for personality, creativity and potential, so you won't be expected to arrive

knowing everything about social media strategy, analytics or the Cash Monkey business.

During your first three months, you'll receive structured support covering content planning,

filming, editing, strategy, brand direction and understanding performance.

We're looking for someone who can grow with the position and ultimately take real

ownership of our social media presence.

Location & Working Pattern

The role is based from our Ilkeston Head Office, with regular travel to our six stores:

Ilkeston | Long Eaton | Beeston | Bulwell | Nottingham | Mansfield

You'll typically spend around two days per week visiting branches to create content, with the

rest of your time focused on planning, editing, publishing, engagement and reviewing

performance.

We offer flexibility around working hours and how your week is structured, recognising that

shoots, campaigns and content opportunities won't always fit within exactly the same

schedule.

Hours

37.5 hours per week

Typical working hours are 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch

break.

Occasional Saturday working may be required where there's a particular benefit to capturing

content on a busier trading day, with the working week adjusted accordingly.

We'd also like you to create one short piece of content for us.

Choose any product you already own - a phone, watch, pair of trainers, games console,

handbag, piece of jewellery or literally anything else and create a 30-45 second

Reel/TikTok-style video around it.

You must appear and speak on camera at some point, but beyond that, the creative direction

is completely up to you.

We're not asking you to simply sell the product to us via a pitch talking to the screen.

Think about the personality-led content you see from brands such as Currys and Aldi. They

can take an everyday product and turn it into something funny, entertaining, relatable or

worth stopping for..

We're interested in seeing how you would approach that.

Your video could be funny, informative, trend-led, personality-led or something completely

unexpected.

You don't need a professional camera, advanced editing or perfect graphics. Your phone is

absolutely fine. We're much more interested in your idea, personality, confidence on camera

and understanding of what makes good social content.

Please don't buy anything or spend hours creating your submission, this is intended to be a

quick creative task using something you already own.

Applications that don't include the information above and the short content task will not be progressed to the next stage.
