Full job description

KAHN® is a globally recognised automotive design house specialising in the bespoke design, customisation, and refinement of luxury and performance vehicles.

We are looking for an experienced Motoring Journalist & Automotive Content Creator to help bring KAHN® back to the forefront of automotive media.

This is an opportunity for someone who genuinely understands cars, understands how the automotive press works, and can tell a compelling story around a vehicle.

Working closely with the KAHN® team and CEO, you will be involved in reviewing and documenting our latest builds, creating press releases, developing editorial content and helping introduce our vehicles to automotive media in the UK and internationally.

The role is based primarily at our Bradford HQ, with occasional travel to our Chelsea showroom in London, vehicle launches, events and other locations when required.

The Role

You will be responsible for creating engaging automotive content across digital, social and traditional media.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing professional and engaging reviews of KAHN® vehicles and builds.
  • Creating press releases for new vehicle launches, products and projects.
  • Developing stories and features around KAHN® vehicles for UK and international automotive media.
  • Researching and identifying relevant automotive journalists, publications and media opportunities.
  • Creating news, features and editorial content for the KAHN® website.
  • Photographing vehicles and capturing high-quality video content during reviews, launches and events.
  • Producing behind-the-scenes content that showcases the design and development of KAHN® vehicles.
  • Managing and contributing to automotive-focused social media content where required.
  • Working closely with the CEO and wider team to develop stories, interviews and media opportunities.
  • Supporting the production of brochures, literature and other brand publications.
  • Attending vehicle launches, press events and other automotive events when required.
  • Helping build and maintain relationships with journalists, publications and automotive media.

About You

We are looking for someone who already understands the motoring media landscape and can confidently write about cars without relying on generic automotive language.

You should have:

  • Proven experience in motoring journalism, automotive media or automotive content creation.
  • Excellent written English and a strong editorial eye.
  • A genuine passion and knowledge of cars, particularly luxury, performance and specialist vehicles.
  • The ability to produce engaging vehicle reviews and automotive features.
  • An understanding of how automotive PR and press releases work.
  • The ability to independently research stories and identify media opportunities.
  • Confidence interviewing people and, where required, working directly with the CEO.
  • Strong photography and video skills. A high-quality iPhone is perfectly acceptable; we are looking for someone who understands composition, lighting and storytelling rather than someone who necessarily owns expensive camera equipment.
  • Confidence appearing on camera or presenting when required.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • A proactive approach: we want someone who can identify a story or opportunity rather than simply wait to be given one.
  • A full UK driving licence is highly desirable.

A degree in journalism, motoring journalism, media or a related subject would be advantageous, but proven experience and a strong portfolio are more important.

What We Offer

  • £15.00 per hour
  • Part-time working arrangement
  • Permanent or freelance opportunity
  • Based at our Bradford HQ
  • Occasional travel to our Chelsea showroom and automotive events
  • The opportunity to work directly with the KAHN® team, Art Manager, and CEO
  • Access to a unique collection of bespoke and highly modified vehicles
  • The opportunity to have your work published across KAHN®'s digital and media channels
  • A varied role combining journalism, automotive PR, photography, video and social media
  • The opportunity to help re-establish KAHN® as a strong voice within the international automotive media landscape

How to Apply

Please send your CV and, importantly, examples of your previous automotive journalism or automotive content work to Marianne at mg@kahndesign.com.

Please include links to any published articles, vehicle reviews, photography, video, social media work, or automotive publications you have contributed to.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate that they can find the story, tell the story, and create the content to support it.
