This role is offered on a Variable Hours contract for services, giving you the flexibility to choose whether to accept work offered to you. We’ll provide an approximate number of hours you may be asked to work, however there is no obligation for work to be offered, and there’s no obligation for you to accept the work offered.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Digital & Creative Industries team as a Variable Hours HE Teacher in Photography. You will work with the Course Leader and curriculum team to deliver high-quality Higher Education programmes, teaching on Higher National and Higher Technical Qualifications at Levels 4 and 5.

You will provide engaging, industry-focused teaching that supports learners to achieve their full potential, whilst developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for progression within the creative industries.

The role includes planning and delivering lessons, preparing learning materials, assessing student work, monitoring learner progress and contributing to curriculum development.

You will deliver outstanding specialist teaching in Photography, including studio and location-based practice, lighting techniques, post-production processes and the effective use of Adobe Creative Suite software. You will play an important role in creating an inspiring and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to personalise and self-direct their learning.

About You

You will be passionate about Photography and creative education, with the ability to inspire and support students studying Higher Education programmes.

You will possess strong subject knowledge and practical industry experience, enabling you to deliver engaging learning experiences that prepare students for employment and progression within the creative industries.

You will be an organised, motivated and flexible individual with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment. You will work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team and contribute positively to the continued success and development of the department.

Below is a list of some of the key skills, qualifications and experience we are seeking for this exciting opportunity.

Required

· Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Photography, Media, Film, TV or a related subject

· Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards a PGCE

· Level 2/GCSE English and Maths qualifications (Grade C/4 or above)

· Experience working within an education setting or the Photography/Media industry

· Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Lightroom

· Experience using DSLR/SLR cameras, lenses, studio lighting and photography equipment

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to deliver outstanding teaching and support student success

Pay: £19.02 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10.0 per week
