Role: Freelance School Portrait Photographer

Work Schedule

  • Work schedule is Monday to Friday
  • Guaranteed work availablefrom Monday 7th September 2026 - Thursday 22nd October 2026
  • Flexible work available (booked on an ad hoc basis) from Monday 2nd November 2026 - Friday 27th November 2026
  • Excludes school holidays and weekends.

Location

  • Leeds (West Yorkshire, Yorkshire and Humber Region) and surrounding areas.
  • Leeds, York, Selby, Hull, Barnsley, Sheffield, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Oldham
  • Daily travel to various schools is required.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children is an advantage. Technical and photographic skills are essential.
  • Transport: You must hold a clean driver's licence. Having your own car/van for daily travel is essential.
  • Flexibility: Availability for early starts and occasional late finishes.
  • Equipment: Photographic equipment such as backdrops, lights etc will be provided for you to retain through the season. We ask you to carry your own DSLR camera with interchangeable zoom lens and tripod as a backup.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry photographic equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive to a different school each day and set up a studio using TSPC equipment.
  • Capture individual headshots and family group photos, working with children of various ages.
  • Deliver high-quality photographs and services to schools while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Uphold a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with students, parents, and staff.

Background Checks and Compliance

  • Enhanced DBS check required before employment (arranged by the company).
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Ongoing Opportunities

  • Comprehensive company training will be provided for successful candidates.
  • Potential for further training in our other products during spring/ summer.

Training

  • Location: Training will take place in Banbury, near our head office.
  • Schedule: Be prepared to stay away from home for 4 days and 3 nights.
  • Accommodation & meals: Hotel accommodation, dinner and breakfast will be provided.
  • Dates: Training will be held in August 2026. You will be expected to attend one of the training weeks. Either Tuesday 4th August 2026 - Friday 7th August 2026, or Monday 17th August 2026 - Thursday 20th August 2026.

Application Process

We complete our recruitment process in 3 Stages.

  • 3 - Successful applicants will then be invited to a second interview, where a final decision will be made regarding your suitability for the role.

The final step of our recruitment process is an in person interview, and will take place on Wednesday 10th June 2026, location to be confirmed.

Compensation and Schedule

  • Pay: Starting at £120 per day plus mileage reimbursed at 35ppm
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Contract: Temporary/Freelance

Experience: Minimum 1 year of photography (preferred).

License: Full, clean UK driving licence and access to your own car/van.
