Are you an experienced content creator who can bring stories to life through both photography and video?

As a Senior Digital Content Creator, you'll lead the creation of high quality visual content that helps people access services and engage with the work of Bristol City Council. As part of Bristol Design, our in house creative team, you will work across a wide range of projects including public health, culture, sustainable travel and democratic services.

This is a varied role requiring a broad creative skillset. One day you could be capturing photography for a campaign or media opportunity, the next producing short form video content designed to engage audiences across social and digital channels. You'll combine strong technical skills with strategic thinking to develop content that meets audience needs and delivers impact.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has substantial experience delivering professional photography and video projects from concept to completion.
  • Is confident planning, shooting and editing both stills and film.
  • Understands how to create effective content for social media and digital platforms.
  • Can assess briefs, identify audience needs and recommend the right creative approach.
  • Has excellent presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment and supports colleagues' development.
  • Can manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Has excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
  • Is committed to accessibility, inclusion and continuous professional development.

Bristol Design delivers engaging, accessible and high quality visual communications that make a difference to people across Bristol. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful projects while helping shape the council's approach to film and photography.

Why Bristol City Council?

At Bristol City Council, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high-profile organisation. For the majority of our roles hybrid working arrangements are available, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice - mixing both home and office working.

Join us and you’ll receive an excellent rewards package including flexible working and flexitime, membership of the Local Government Pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance. In addition, you’ll be working in a supportive environment where you’ll have the chance to make Bristol a better place and contribute to its future.
