About Avazia

Avazia designs and builds bespoke engineering systems for test, measurement, automation and control.

Our projects combine software with real-world engineering hardware, including sensors, instrumentation, data acquisition, control systems and automated test equipment.

The Role

We are looking for a Graduate or Junior Engineer to join our team.

This is a practical engineering role involving software development, system integration, testing and problem solving. You will work on customer projects developing systems used to control equipment, acquire measurement data, automate processes and test products.

Typical work includes:

  • Developing engineering and automation software
  • Integrating sensors, instruments and data acquisition hardware
  • Testing, debugging and troubleshooting systems
  • Developing user interfaces and control applications
  • Working with customers to understand technical requirements
  • Supporting system build, commissioning and site work where required

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background.

You will ideally have a degree in:

  • Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronics, Robotics or Automation
  • Control or Systems Engineering
  • Physics or a closely related engineering discipline

We would also consider someone from a software or computer science background where they can demonstrate substantial practical engineering experience.

You should have some programming experience, strong problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in working with both software and real-world engineering systems.

Experience with LabVIEW, Python, C/C++, MATLAB, PLCs, electronics, instrumentation or data acquisition would be useful but is not essential.

What We Offer

  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Training and support from experienced engineers
  • Exposure to a broad range of technologies and industries
  • Increasing technical responsibility as you develop

The role is primarily office-based at our Shrivenham office, with occasional customer-site work.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Avazia is not currently able to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

Application Question

As part of your application, please answer the following:

Tell us about an engineering or technical problem you have solved, worked on, or would like to solve.

We are particularly interested in problems involving real-world systems, measurement, automation, control, testing or improving a process.
