Senior Technical Claims Handler – Motor TPA Claims

Location: Hybrid – Coleshill, Birmingham 3 days per week
Salary: Competitive + Benefits
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Claims Handler to join our Motor TPA team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on managing complex motor claims and providing technical leadership within a fast-paced, client-focused environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring claims are handled efficiently, accurately, and in line with regulatory and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of complex, high-value, and technically challenging motor claims, including personal injury, credit hire and large loss cases.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior claims handlers, acting as a mentor and subject matter expert.
  • Ensure claims are handled in accordance with internal policies, client SLAs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with insurers, brokers, solicitors, and third parties to facilitate timely and fair claim resolutions.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement and contribute to technical strategy.
  • Support audits, client reviews, and internal quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with compliance standards.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in motor claims handling, ideally within a TPA or insurer setting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of motor claims processes, liability, indemnity, and litigation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to coach and support others, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
  • Familiarity with FCA regulations and industry best practices.
