Full job description

Assistantant Unit Manager required on a 1300 sow outdoor pig breeding unit based in East Rudham. Experience will be required along with a full UK driving licence.

Your duties will include;

  • To assist management of daily operations including staff activities.
  • Competence in all aspects of modern high welfare pig breeding.
  • Uphold a high standard of farm animal biosecurity, health, and welfare.
  • Record keeping and reporting, including production, management, stocktaking and assurance scheme compliance.
  • Ensure the unit is meeting regulatory requirements including environment and contractual obligations.
  • Managing the maintenance of unit equipment and machinery.
  • Assist with the training of staff.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to work closely with senior management.
  • Support a positive, progressive working environment.

LSB Pigs is a family run business which has been established for over 30 years. We can offer you the opportunity to progress within a secure and innovative multi-site business, with a excellent working environment.

Our outdoor pig units are based in North Norfolk between Weasenham and East Rudham. We produce 9 kilo weaners for a major supplier and all gilt replacements are produced in house. We are Red Tractor and Freedom Food monitored.

A bonus scheme is in place. Holiday allowance is at 29 days per year including bank holidays and we can offer a competitive salary that will be negotiated on experience.

Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
