About Us

Castle Environmental is leading specialist waste treatment, disposal and recycling services – handling in excess of 200,000 tonnes of waste, per year. With more than 40 years’ experience, we provide customers peace of mind through high standards in technical assessment and processing. Right now, we have an opportunity for a Site Operative based at our Ilkeston facility, to join the team.

What you’ll do

As a Site Operative, you will be responsible for assisting the Process Manager working as part of a team to ensure waste deliveries are handled and stored in conjunction with company procedures and policies.

Key Responsibilities

Main responsibilities of a Site Operative include:

  • Operate waste processing equipment as described in company procedures
  • Operate mobile plant including forklift trucks and skid steer loaders (training provided)
  • Monitor and maintain housekeeping standards
  • Opportunity to be part of small project teams for site and process improvements
  • Bulking of waste materials as directed by site chemists or the process manager
  • Palletising and preparing containers and pallets in line with company procedures and standards to ensure suitability for transport to other facilities
  • To play a vital part in assisting other teams on site when required

What you’ll need to succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity for motivated individual that is willing to learn and h the drive to succeed. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and self driven and have experience within the waste (or similar) industry.

The following skills are essential:

  • Attention to detail and an eye for quality
  • Organised, able to manage workloads and hit deadlines
  • A team player with good communication skills
