Self-Employed Painter & Decorator (Subcontractor) - Peterborough

Shark Renovations is a Peterborough painting and decorating business specialising in high-end Level 5 finishing, shortlisted in the Checkatrade Awards 2026. We are busy and looking for reliable self-employed subcontractors to work with us across Peterborough and a 25-mile radius.

PAY (self-employed, paid per job)

- Paid per job, with the price agreed before you start. This is not a day rate, so the faster and cleaner you work, the more you earn.

- Paid on completion of each job.

- Good painters can earn £150 to £190 a day.

- Experienced sprayers with their own airless sprayer can earn up to £220 a day.

THE WORK

- Interior and exterior painting and decorating in homes and rental properties

- Preparation, filling, sanding, brush, roller and spray finishes, plus woodwork

- Wallpapering and small plastering repairs are a bonus

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

- Proven decorating experience, with photos of recent work

- Your own tools and transport

- Public liability insurance

- A UTR number, and you must be happy to work self-employed

- Neat, careful and reliable. We work in people's homes, so turning up on time and leaving it clean matters

- Good English, so you can understand instructions and talk to clients
