Job description

About Axis

Axis, part of Axis CLC, is a trusted property services specialist delivering responsive repairs, planned works, refurbishments and voids services. We employ more than 1,500 people and support over 250 clients across London and the Southeast.

Backed by over 110 years of combined experience across the Axis CLC group, we help keep residents safe, properties well maintained and clients fully compliant.

The Role

We are recruiting experienced and versatile Multi Traders with a strong background in general building and roofing to support our long-term partnership with the Optivo Maintenance Direct contract, covering Sittingbourne and the surrounding areas.

We are particularly interested in candidates whose main trade is roofing or general building, but who also possess the practical skills and experience to undertake a wide variety of multi-trade repairs and maintenance tasks.

The successful candidates will be confident carrying out roofing repairs, general building maintenance and associated repairs across occupied residential properties.

This is a varied, hands-on role requiring someone who can turn their hand to different trades, diagnose problems and deliver effective, high-quality repairs with minimal supervision.

You'll be supported by modern digital systems that keep work flowing efficiently and give you everything you need to deliver a first-class service.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake general building repairs and maintenance across residential properties.

  • Carry out roofing repairs, including pitched and flat roofs, roof coverings, ridge tiles, leadwork, flashings and associated components.

  • Diagnose and repair roof leaks, defective guttering, fascias, soffits and rainwater goods.

  • Complete brickwork, blockwork, repointing, rendering and other general masonry repairs.

  • Undertake minor carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating repairs where required.

  • Carry out a broad range of reactive maintenance and general property repairs.

  • Identify faults and provide practical, cost-effective repair solutions.

  • Work independently and efficiently, ensuring repairs are completed safely and to a high standard.

  • Maintain excellent customer service when working in occupied properties.

  • Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety, quality and company standards.

About You

  • Strong experience in general building and roofing repairs is essential.

  • Ideally qualified or time-served in roofing or general building, with proven practical experience.

  • Competent in undertaking both pitched and flat roofing repairs.

  • Good working knowledge of brickwork, pointing, rendering and general external building maintenance.

  • Must be versatile and willing to undertake a range of multi-trade repairs beyond their primary trade.

  • Practical experience in additional trades such as carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling or decorating.

  • Ability to diagnose building defects and complete effective repairs independently.

  • Experience working in occupied and tenanted residential properties.

  • Familiar with PDA usage and digital job management systems.

  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 in a relevant trade, or equivalent demonstrable trade experience.

  • Clean, valid UK driving licence.

  • DBS check (or willingness to undertake).

  • Eligible to work in the UK (proof required).

  • Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.

What We Offer

  • Salary up to £40,660 depending upon experience.

  • Company vehicle and fuel card (business use).

  • Pension and life assurance.

  • 23 days' holiday + bank holidays.

  • Perkbox (free coffees, cinema tickets, discounts & more).

  • 1 paid volunteer day each year.

  • £2,000 refer-a-friend bonus after the referee passes probation.

  • Opportunities for development and progression across Axis CLC.

Why Axis CLC?
