This role is primarily based in Brighton and Hove, with some projects elsewhere across Sussex.

Why work with KFIT?

  • Varied commercial and residential work, from individual repairs to larger projects involving several trades.
  • Agreed work scopes and practical support from our office, operations and site teams.
  • Work-related parking costs paid by KFIT.

Project materials are supplied through KFIT HQ on Old Shoreham Road, Hove.

Pay and hours

  • Optional overtime, night work and occasional Saturdays are available by agreement.
  • Hours worked between 10pm and 6am are paid at double the agreed hourly rate.

What the role involves

  • Checking backgrounds for damp, movement and contamination, and raising concerns before plastering.
  • Protecting work areas, removing defective plaster and making good safely and tidily.
  • Fitting plasterboard, including dot and dab, scrimming joints and fitting beads.
  • Preparing bonding and base coats, and mixing and applying materials to the specified requirements.
  • Completing patch repairs, local skimming and full wall or ceiling skims to the agreed scope, including interior or exterior work as specified.
  • Producing clean corners, edges and reveals with a consistent finish.
  • Allowing for drying times, protecting completed work and coordinating handovers to following trades.
  • Keeping clear notes and photographs of progress, recording hidden conditions and raising scope changes before proceeding.

Skills and experience

  • Proven plastering experience and the ability to produce a consistent, high-quality finish.
  • Confidence with plasterboarding, dot and dab, preparation and repairs.
  • The ability to follow job specifications and drawings where required.
  • Reliability, attention to detail and clear communication.
