Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Plasterer to join our construction team, bringing expertise in finishing and surface preparation for a variety of building projects. As a vital member of our crew, you will transform walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with precision and craftsmanship. Your role will involve working on residential, commercial, and industrial sites, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet safety standards and client expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your plastering skills while contributing to innovative construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion for plastering materials
  • Mix plaster, stucco, or other finishing compounds accurately using hand tools and power tools to achieve the desired consistency
  • Apply plaster or stucco using trowels, hawks, or spray equipment with precision for smooth finishes on walls and ceilings
  • Use masonry skills to repair or patch existing surfaces, including working with bricks and mortar when necessary
  • Install lath or mesh backing for plaster applications on various substrates
  • Collaborate with carpenters, masons, roofers, and welders to coordinate project tasks effectively
  • Follow safety protocols diligently while operating power tools and handling materials at heights or in confined spaces

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in plastering, masonry, or related trades with a strong portfolio of completed projects
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, hawks, floats, and measuring devices
  • Familiarity with power tools used in plastering and surface preparation processes
  • Knowledge of bricklaying, roofing techniques, welding basics, and carpentry fundamentals is a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
  • Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions
