Full job description

Damp Proofing Solutions, is a growing family run company, established over 50 years ago. We currently seek a Multi-trade preservation, technician to join our team with immediate start.

As a business we are always striving to continuously improve and expect our employees to do the same, taking pride in their work and having a strong desire to learn, as on-going training is given as part of our commitment to continuous improvement. The successful applicant should have a strong desire to learn the trades of a Building Preservation Specialist.

This position covers project work throughout Birmingham, Dudley, Wolverhampton and nearby areas. The role is offered on a permanent basis

The ideal candidate will

  • Have some experience in plastering, boarding and skimming and could have some experience in various damp proofing methods, although training will be given to candidates with the right qualities who have a willingness to learn.
  • Be motivated and practical.
  • May have a knowledge and experience covering multiple general building trades.
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high quality of work.
  • Be able to work using their own initiative, and as part of a team.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with both clients and colleagues.
  • Be willing to work in a practical role where you “get your hands dirty”.
  • Be able to work at heights and confined spaces.
  • Be of a decent standard of physical fitness and manual dexterity is essential.
  • Punctual and professional.
  • Have a ‘Can do’ attitude, positive outlook and friendly demeanour.
  • Have their own basic tools.
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.

JOB ROLE (not limited to):

· Stripping plaster and installing various damp proofing systems

· Basic carpentry.

· Dry lining, wet plastering, plaster boarding and skimming

· Application of preservation treatments.

· Adhering to all health and safety guidelines

Hours - Monday - Friday approx 7:30am - 4:00pm

Salary negotiable based on proven experience.
