Self-Employed Multi-Trade Plasterer

Location: Essex or East London
Rate: £180–£200 per day
Employment Type: Self-Employed / Subcontractor
Hours: Monday to Friday
Duration: Ongoing work
Vehicle & Fuel: Van and fuel provided

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Self-Employed Multi-Trade Plasterer to join our team on an ongoing basis, carrying out maintenance and refurbishment works within social housing properties.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works well independently and has experience working in occupied residential properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out plastering repairs and general plastering works
  • Patching, skimming and making good
  • Carrying out multi-trade maintenance and minor repairs
  • Preparing surfaces and ensuring a high-quality finish
  • Making good following plumbing, electrical and other maintenance works
  • Working within occupied social housing properties
  • Completing jobs efficiently and to a high standard
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Communicating professionally with tenants, clients and the office team
  • Completing required job sheets, photographs and paperwork

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in:

  • Plastering and rendering
  • Skimming and patch repairs
  • General property maintenance
  • Basic carpentry/joinery
  • Basic plumbing
  • Basic tiling
  • Making good and finishing works
  • Working within social housing or residential maintenance environments

You must be able to work independently, manage your workload effectively and deliver a consistently high standard of workmanship.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a plasterer/multi-trade operative
  • Self-employed/subcontractor status
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Ability to work in occupied properties
  • Relevant qualifications or trade experience preferred
