Job Summary

Self-Employed Plasterer – Day Rate
L&J Building Services

About us

L&J Building Services carries out structural alterations and general building work across South Wales. Our work includes removing load-bearing walls, creating and enlarging structural openings, installing steel beams and lintels, constructing stud walls and associated building work.

We are looking for an experienced, reliable self-employed plasterer to follow on after our building work and complete the plastering to a high standard.

The work

You will prepare and finish areas affected by structural alterations, leaving walls and ceilings smooth and ready for decoration. Typical work includes:

  • Plastering around newly installed beams, lintels and structural openings.
  • Skimming new stud walls and plasterboard.
  • Patching and making good existing walls and ceilings.
  • Blending new plasterwork into existing surfaces.
  • Keeping work areas tidy and treating customers’ homes with care.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in domestic plastering, skimming and making good.
  • A consistently neat finish and attention to detail.
  • Reliability, good communication and the ability to work independently.
  • Your own tools and suitable transport to travel between jobs.
  • A professional, respectful approach when working in occupied homes.

Pay and working arrangements

This is a self-employed opportunity, paid on an agreed day rate according to experience.

Working days, hours and the scope of each job will be agreed in advance according to project requirements.

Work will take place at customers’ properties
