Full job description

Solid Homes Ltd is a growing property maintenance and refurbishment company specialising in residential renovations, damp and mould repairs, and general building works.

We’re looking for an experienced multi-trader with strong plastering skills to work in residents’ homes across Medway. Most plastering jobs involve repairing a few square metres of wall or ceiling. You’ll cut out damaged plaster or plasterboard, fit new board where needed and skim the patch so it blends neatly into the surrounding surface.

The work varies between properties. When there’s less plastering to do, you’ll use your other trade skills on jobs ranging from minor repairs to full refurbishments.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out patch plastering and plasterboard repairs to walls and ceilings.
  • Hang and adjust doors, fit skirting boards and box in pipework.
  • Replace damaged tiles, regrout joints and renew sealant.
  • Prepare surfaces and complete painting and decorating work.
  • Carry out kitchen and bathroom installation work, general maintenance and snagging.
  • Replace extractor fans as part of damp and mould works. Training will be provided for this task.
  • Work independently and alongside other trades to complete jobs within agreed timescales. Keep residents, clients and colleagues informed, protect residents’ belongings and leave each property clean and tidy.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar multi-trade role, with the ability to finish plaster repairs to a high standard.
  • Your own tools and a car or van to travel between properties across Medway.
  • A reliable, hardworking approach, good time management and the ability to work at a steady pace with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and a professional manner when working in occupied homes.
  • A Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) and the right to work in the UK.
  • A current DBS check or willingness to apply.

To apply, send your CV or a short summary of your experience through Indeed. Tell us about your plastering experience, which other trades you’re confident in and when you’re available to start.

Pay: £26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Work Location: In person
