Full job description

About us
Cheshire Drylining Ltd is an established drylining and plastering company covering tape and jointing, skimming, plasterboarding and metal stud work. We’re looking for a reliable self-employed plaster patcher to look after the making-good side of our jobs.

Where the work is
This role is advertised in Crewe but we also have ongoing work across North Staffordshire, Cheshire, Manchester and North Wales. We’ll match you to jobs close to where you live to keep travel down, so if you’re based in any of these areas we’d still like to hear from you.

The role
You’ll be going in after other trades to finish areas off to a high standard, usually on occupied or nearly finished sites. Typical work includes:

  • Patching and making good after electricians, plumbers and other trades
  • Filling and finishing around windows and doors after fitting or replacement
  • Reboarding small areas such as bay windows, reveals and soffits, then skimming
  • Using Easifill and similar fillers for small repairs and feathering out
  • Skimming small to medium areas to blend into existing finishes
  • Leaving work areas clean and tidy, ready for decorators

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in plastering and patching, with a neat finish
  • Confident with Easifill, skimming and small amounts of boarding
  • Able to work on your own and manage your day across several small jobs
  • Reliable, punctual and tidy, especially in customers’ homes
  • Full UK driving licence, own transport and own tools
  • Registered as self-employed (CIS)
  • CSCS card [essential / desirable]

What we offer

  • £25/hr or £200/day
  • Steady, ongoing work
  • Jobs allocated near your home
  • A friendly, supportive team to work alongside

Pay: £20.00-£25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Work Location: In person
