About the Role

Help us keep our customers’ homes safe, secure and well maintained.

We’re looking for an experienced Plumber to join our Onward Repairs team.

As one of our Plumbers, you’ll be out and about in our customers’ homes and empty properties, completing repairs and maintenance to a high standard. You’ll take pride in your workmanship, identify the right repair solution and help us deliver an efficient, value-for-money service that puts our customers first.

You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive repairs team where quality matters. From assessing repairs and organising materials through to keeping customers informed and completing jobs using mobile technology, you’ll play an important role in delivering an excellent repairs experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Carrying out plumbing repairs and maintenance in customers’ homes and empty properties.
  • Assessing jobs and identifying effective, cost-conscious repair solutions.
  • Delivering high-quality workmanship and aiming to get repairs right first time.
  • Providing a friendly, professional service and keeping customers informed.
  • Planning your workload and ensuring you have the right materials and van stock available.
  • Recording completed work, materials and follow-on requirements using a PDA/mobile working system.
  • Working safely and in line with relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Safely using and maintaining tools, equipment and your allocated company vehicle.
  • Taking part in the emergency out-of-hours service when required.

What we’re looking for

You’ll need:

  • Level 2 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Plumbing, together with relevant practical experience.
  • Good knowledge of building construction, building components and relevant building regulations.
  • Experience of delivering repairs or maintenance within a customer-focused environment.
  • A track record of delivering high-quality, customer-centred repairs.
  • Experience of working to targets and managing your workload effectively.
  • Good knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Experience within domestic property maintenance or social housing, as well as using PDA/mobile working technology, would be an advantage.

Relevant training in areas such as asbestos awareness, manual handling, COSHH, PPE, power tools or working at height would also be beneficial.
