Job Role: Mechanical Engineer/plumber
Location: HMP The Mount, Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 0NZ
Salary: £41,818.21 per annum + 5% additional for working shifts covering weekends
Contract: Permanent, full time, 39 hours per week
We are seeking an NVQ Level 3 qualified Plumber to join our team at HMP The Mount, a category C adult male prison.

HMP The Mount runs like a self-contained town, it takes hundreds of people to keep it functioning, and as the Facilities Maintenance Team we are committed and driving the smooth and safe operation, like a heart that pumps blood through the body, everything we do impacts every prisoner, employee, and visitor, and wider to the families and community.
As a Mechanical Engineer you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.

- C&G 6129 certificate in Plumbing
- C&G 214 Engineering systems maintenance
- C&G 6188 Heating and ventilating
- C&G 6088 certificate in heating and ventilating
- C&G 6032 the advanced craft certificate in plumbing
- EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
- Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent
- Be familiar with and able to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
- Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems
- Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
- Good Health & Safety knowledge.
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
