Qualified Plumber – Subcontractor

Location: Hertfordshire, London & Essex
Pay: £200 per day
Working days: Monday to Friday
Payment: Fortnightly, every other Friday
Job type: Full-time, self-employed subcontractor

About the Role

We are looking for qualified, experienced and motivated plumbers to join our growing plumbing business, covering Hertfordshire, London and Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a plumber who takes pride in their work, is reliable and wants consistent weekday work without the hassle of finding their own customers or managing their own diary.

We take care of the bookings, scheduling and job management, allowing you to focus on what you do best: delivering quality plumbing work and providing an excellent service to customers.

You will typically complete 3–4 jobs per day, working Monday to Friday, with a starting rate of £200 per day, paid fortnightly every other Friday.

For the right people, there is also an opportunity to increase earnings once you have demonstrated consistent performance, reliability and high standards of workmanship.

What We Offer

  • £200 per day as a starting rate.
  • Fortnightly payments, paid every other Friday.
  • Consistent work from Monday to Friday.
  • A typical workload of 3–4 booked jobs per day.
  • All jobs arranged, scheduled and managed by our office.
  • No need to spend time sourcing your own customers.
  • Work across Hertfordshire, London and Essex.
  • The opportunity to increase your daily rate as you prove yourself.
  • The chance to build a long-term working relationship with a growing business.

We want to work with plumbers who are serious about their trade, take responsibility for their work and want to build a reliable, long-term income.

The Role and Responsibilities

As one of our plumbers, your responsibilities will include:

  • Attending pre-booked plumbing jobs at residential and commercial properties as required.
  • Completing approximately 3–4 jobs per day, depending on job type, location and complexity.
  • Carrying out plumbing repairs, installations, maintenance and fault-finding appropriate to your qualifications and experience.
  • Diagnosing problems and recommending practical, professional solutions.
  • Delivering a high standard of workmanship on every job.
  • Communicating professionally with customers and keeping them informed.
  • Arriving on time and managing your daily schedule efficiently.
  • Keeping your van, tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Providing job updates and completion information to our office.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment.
  • Representing the business positively at all times.

Our office will manage your bookings and daily schedule, so you can concentrate on completing jobs efficiently and professionally.

Essential Requirements

Please apply only if you meet the following requirements:

  • Relevant plumbing qualifications are essential.
  • Proven, hands-on plumbing experience is essential.
  • Your own reliable van suitable for carrying out plumbing work.
  • Your own tools and equipment required to complete plumbing jobs.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence.
  • The ability to travel throughout Hertfordshire, London and Essex.
  • Excellent timekeeping, reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work independently and solve problems confidently.
  • A professional attitude and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • The ability to manage a busy schedule and complete jobs efficiently.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate their relevant qualifications and practical experience. Additional trade-specific certifications may be required depending on the work undertaken.

Who We Are Looking For

We want plumbers who are motivated, commercially minded and keen to make the most of a consistent flow of work.

You should be someone who turns up on time, takes pride in doing a proper job, treats customers respectfully and understands the importance of efficiency and reliability.

The role offers a typical workload of 3–4 jobs per day, subject to the work available and the nature and location of individual jobs.

We recognise and reward plumbers who consistently deliver excellent work, maintain high customer service standards and demonstrate reliability.

There is scope to review and increase your daily rate once you have proven yourself. Any increase will be agreed with the business and based on performance, quality of work, reliability and the requirements of the role.
