Due to a sustainable increase of workload, we are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our General Works and Maintenance team in Cambridge.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a well-established company within the Cambridge area, working in various sectors over the past 60 years including Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Defence and Research, servicing clients’ requirements throughout Cambridgeshire and the neighbouring counties.
Reporting to the Small Works & Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be required to liaise directly with our repeat clients, representing the business in a proud professional manner
The main function of the role will be to carry out the service and repair works to a variety of mechanical and electrical systems. The successful candidate will ideally have at least 3 years’ experience in a Plumbing bias role including planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdown attendance for different types of mechanical and electrical systems in a commercial and industrial environment, as well as having the ability to keep calm and resolve challenges
You must be able to work without supervision and use your own initiative as well as be able to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of H&S requirements
Ideally, we are looking for someone with the following experience / qualifications:
- Experience of maintaining and repairing MEP installations
- Time served Plumbing or HVAC apprenticeship completed or gained adequate experience from undertaking a similar role to be competent
- A good understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical systems
- Ability to plan quarterly and annual maintenance tasks
- Experienced in fault finding and reactive breakdown attendance
- Knowledge & experience of the industrial and commercial industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Full driving licence – (Essential)
The core hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.00pm with occasional weekend working and overtime as required by the company
Wages and annual leave will be in line with the BESA national agreement or by agreement should this not be applicable
A fully expensed Company Vehicle will also be provided for work use
