Job description

Fire Sprinkler Fitter / Pipefitter / Plumber

Self-employed

MCGT Fire Sprinklers are looking for an experienced and reliable tradesperson to join our growing team.

We are interested in hearing from experienced fire sprinkler fitters as well as pipefitters and plumbers who may be interested in moving into the fire sprinkler industry.

Previous fire sprinkler experience is desirable but not essential for someone with a strong plumbing or pipefitting background, as training can be provided to the right person.

Our work includes the installation of commercial and residential fire sprinkler systems using both CPVC and steel pipework.

Projects are primarily across Northern Ireland, with work also undertaken in the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain. Some travel and working away from home will be required depending on project requirements. Accommodation and applicable travel/away allowances will be provided.

The role may include:

Installation of CPVC and steel fire sprinkler systems

Reading drawings and setting out installations

Installation of sprinkler heads, ranges and mains

Installation of valves and associated equipment

Pressure testing and commissioning assistance

Working from access equipment where required

Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site safety

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience in fire sprinklers, pipefitting or plumbing

Takes pride in their work

Is reliable and able to work as part of a team

Can work independently where their experience allows

Is willing to learn and develop within the fire sprinkler industry

Is willing to travel and work away when required

Holds a full driving licence

Relevant site qualifications/cards would be advantageous.

Pay: £16–£24 per hour depending on experience and ability.

Higher rates within the range are applicable to experienced fire sprinkler fitters capable of working independently.

Job type: Full-time

MCGT Fire Sprinklers is continuing to grow, and this position offers the opportunity to develop with the company as we take on projects across Northern Ireland, ROI and GB.

Pay: £16.00-£24.00 per hour

Work Location: On the road
