Job summary

Devon Partnership Trust have an exciting opportunity to work as a Plumber / Mechanical Fitter as part of a team in the maintenance of building, carpentry and electrical services in healthcare properties.

This will involve working in a wide range of healthcare and associated premises in both new and existing buildings. You will work flexibly, using your own initiative and with the minimum amount of supervision.

There is an expectation for the appointed candidate to be self-motivated and able to manage their own workflow, as for the majority of the day you will be working on your own, although there will be a requirement to work with other trades from time to time.

A full driving licence is an essential requirement due to the geographical area covered.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities for the role are to:

  • Plan, organise and prioritise own workflow within a range agreed with the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • To be able to problem solve and diagnose faults to find a solution. Installation and or repair and maintenance of physical assets.
  • Maintain and repair Trust property and equipment.
  • To work under own initiative for the majority of the working day
  • To be competent in all aspects of Plumbing and Mechanical works and to be able to work on your own or as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Planning and prioritising the workload in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Compliance with safe systems of work within relevant Health & Safety Regulations
  • To establish and maintain good relationships and effective team working which will include supporting colleagues in order that the Estates Department is able to provide the full range of high quality estates services to both the Devon Partnership Trust and its client Trusts.
  • Undertake surveys or audits as necessary to own work and regularly undertake equipment testing. Participates is surveys and audits and undertakes acceptance and testing of new equipment.

Pay: £28,392.00-£31,157.00 per year
