New Build Plumber / Gas Installer

£42,000 per year or Self-Employed Price Work

Locations: Penkridge, Stafford, Spondon and Hinckley
Employment types: Full-time, permanent or self-employed subcontractor

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and hardworking New Build Plumber / Gas Installer to join our team, working across large-scale new-build developments for major national housebuilders throughout the Midlands.

Our developments cover 200+ plots per site, so we need a tradesperson who understands the demands of high-volume housebuilding and can work efficiently to meet construction programmes and deadlines.

We are looking for an all-round plumber and gas installer with at least five years of relevant experience, ideally working with national five-star housebuilders such as Bloor Homes or similar developers.

The successful candidate must understand how a new-build site operates and be confident carrying out all aspects of plumbing and heating installation, from initial installation stages through to final fixing, testing and commissioning.

This role is not suitable for someone who specialises in only one element of plumbing. We need an experienced, adaptable tradesperson who can cover the complete range of new-build plumbing works.

We are offering both a full-time employed position at £42,000 per year and self-employed subcontract opportunities paid on a price-work basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out all aspects of plumbing and heating installation on large-scale new-build housing developments.
  • Completing work across developments comprising 200+ plots.
  • Understanding the full site process, from initial installation stages through to final fixing and commissioning.
  • Completing first fix, second fix and final fix plumbing works.
  • Installing plumbing and heating systems, boilers and associated components in accordance with specifications.
  • Carrying out testing, commissioning and quality checks appropriate to your qualifications.
  • Working at pace in a high-volume environment while maintaining excellent workmanship.
  • Managing workloads effectively to meet site programmes and deadlines.
  • Working professionally alongside site managers, supervisors and other trades.
  • Identifying and resolving installation issues promptly to minimise delays.
  • Travelling between our Midlands developments to support workload fluctuations and cover additional work where required.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality and professionalism.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in new-build plumbing and heating.
  • Previous experience working for or on behalf of major national housebuilders, ideally five-star developers such as Bloor Homes or similar.
  • Experience working on large-scale developments with high plot numbers.
  • A strong understanding of high-volume new-build plumbing installation.
  • The ability to undertake all aspects of plumbing and heating work, from initial installation through to final fixing and commissioning.
  • The ability to work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality.
  • A good understanding of site operations, construction programmes and deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently and manage workloads with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to travel between multiple sites throughout the Midlands.
  • A reliable, professional attitude and pride in delivering quality workmanship.
  • Relevant plumbing qualifications and appropriate Gas Safe registration and ACS qualifications for the gas work undertaken.

Locations

Our current developments are located in:

  • Penkridge
  • Stafford
  • Spondon
  • Hinckley

You must be willing to work across these locations as required to support site workloads and ensure work is completed in line with programme requirements.

Pay and Employment OptionsFull-Time Employed Position

  • £42,000 per year.
  • Full-time, permanent employment.
  • Work across large-scale new-build developments throughout the Midlands.

Self-Employed Subcontractor

  • Paid on an agreed price-work basis.
  • Rates dependent on the work undertaken and agreed scope.
  • Opportunities across multiple large-scale new-build developments.

Please specify in your application whether you are interested in the employed position or self-employed subcontract work.

Who We Are Looking For

We need a proven all-round new-build plumber and gas installer who understands how national housebuilders operate and can hit the ground running.

You must be comfortable working on developments with 200+ plots, adapting to changing site priorities and maintaining productivity in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for their work, understands the importance of keeping construction programmes moving and can confidently complete all aspects of their trade without constant supervision.

Reliability, flexibility, efficiency and quality workmanship are essential.

If you have the experience to work on major new-build developments and can deliver across the full range of plumbing and heating installations, we want to hear from you.
